Shadows Rising: State of Azeroth Details

This sounds like you made it up.
Do you have sources for that?

Just what night elf fans have been spouting in other threads. Other than Winter Queen literally being Bwonsamdi’s boss. Those logs have long been up on Wowhead.

Followers of Elune go to Ardenweald, though. We definitely learned that at of the last alpha patch.

Yeah but my eyes aren’t permanently attached to wowhead. So far I scrubbed for anything I can find in the last few minutes and drudged up nothing.

I haven’t heard anything about the Winter Queen as a character, and everything I’ve seen coming from Ardenweald is about other things. There’s some connections for sure, but I don’t actually think anything official was given yet.

I got you, homie.

Hey dere Winter Queen! Ol’ Bwonsamdi can be explainin’… see, I be findin’ out dat Mueh’zala be takin’ ya loa away.
We face this challenge with dignity and remain united behind the Master. Revendreth remains resolute!
So I be helpin’ dis one find where dey be… deep in da Maw.
… Even if Ardenweald does not have the power to rebirth all spirits, they must all flow through here to try to be saved.
I will take these three spirits into our care. And you will find your way out of my land, Bwonsamdi.

And just like the night elf alliance themed god she is, she has to put our Horde god in his place as her pleb.

Ardenweald is a Nature-aligned afterlife for the entire universe. Many of its denizens aren’t even Azerothian, much less Night Elven.

And, as far as I can remember, the only former-Night Elf we’ve seen so far is a Kyrian.

That’s, so far, not even hinted at. Much less confirmed. And the only one I’ve seen really pushing the idea is a Blood Elf poster, for whatever that’s worth. Not necessarily “Night Elf fans”.

Also, Elune isn’t uniquely Night Elven. Species across the universe worship her, as Elune. To the point the first Night Warrior probably isn’t even a Night Elf, but an unknown alien species.

As near as I can tell, the consensus is that Bwon’s boss is Mueh’zala. Whom he summarily helps overthrow.

All followers of Elune go to Ardenweald. The zones are designed with night elf aesthetics, with nods to night elf world trees, and faaerie (elves aare fae in folklore) winter queen.

The zone is a permanent night forest. There are no jungles to it.

Yes it is. There’s a reason Elune’s followers all go to Ardenweald.

Again: ALL Loa are beholden to the Winter Queen, whom they require for rebirth.

I already Knew Bwon worked for the Winter Queen, I probably should’ve made that clear. What doesn’t check out for me is the Winter Queen being “The daughter of Elune” and the “Night Elven Death goddess”.

It’s just what night elf players have been saying, with data extrapolated from “all followers of Elune being sent to Ardenweald.” Including Ysera, whom Elune personally harvested.

After all, I need not remind you that night elves are Elune’s chosen azerothian race.

Okay? Night Elf posters aren’t the deciders of lore. Idc that they say things that are wrong and contradict the lore, let them have their collective delusion.

If you want to disregard that,

  1. It’s a permanent night forest.
  2. It’s never a jungle.
  3. The Winter Queen is specifically a fae.
  4. The followers of Elune go to Ardenweald.
  5. The zone is designed with night elven aesthetics.
  6. The Winter Queen, who has just been enormously helped by Bwonsamdi dunks on him as a high five for the Alliance.
  7. Elune’s chosen champion is specifically woven into the Ardenweald Covenant storyline
  8. World Tree analogues.
  9. Tied specifically to the Emerald Dream, which only Night Elves are literally bound to.
  10. Fauna / Dryad link.

well I mean that’s definitely your choice to make. I certainly ignored the very obvious evidence that Sylvanas was going to burn the tree because I was sure Blizzard would never demonize the Horde like that.

Aesthetics alone do not make it a Night Elven zone. Otherwise, Shadowmoon Valley and Duskwood are also Night Elven.

The only distinctly Azerothian presence there is the Drust.

Not all. Most, maybe. But as I pointed out, the only former-Night Elf that I remember seeing so far is a Kyrian (unless that’s changed by now).

Well, good thing it isn’t just aesthetics.

If you mean the night warrior, that’s definitely changed. I remember people saying the night warrior was kyrian a few months ago, but he isn’t anymore. Or at least, people have said he isn’t anymore. I’m not in alpha/beta. I’m going off of forums and wowhead.

You’re confusing Night Warriors.

The First Night Warrior is a male that we see in Tyrande’s quest chain. We see him in the… Maw I think?

The Kyrian one was Tyrande’s predecessor, and is female.

Thanks buddy.

I really don’t care for Ardenweald having “Night Elven aesthetics”, yes the Night Elves are most at home there instead of any of the realms, but it really doesn’t say much for it being a Night Elven afterlife.

Elune is speculated to be worshiped more than just Azeroth, hence the line “The Followers of Elune” actually doesn’t mean anything. As for the Winter Queen being pro-alliance and dunking on Bwonsamdi? Again, I’ve never heard this.

Oh yeah, and the deers and trees being connected to Nature? It’s almost as if it’s symbolic to some societies for those things, and doesn’t necessarily mean that Aerdenweald is Night Elf only, or that the Winter Queen is Elune’s daughter.

Seriously, you people take a ball and run a mile with it.

No? It literally being said that it’s the night elven afterlife makes it the night elven afterlife. The window dressings just accentuate the fact.

Great, also meaningless. Her chosen race on Azeroth is not Tauren, Trolls, Orcs, Goblins, Pandaren, Blood Elves, Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Draenei, High Elves, Worgen, or Vulpera.

Her chosen race on Azeroth is the Night Elven race, who are likewise the chosen race of Ysera, who bound them to the Emerald Dream – which Ardenweald mirrors.

I’ve literally just linked it to you???

So are kelp, sharks, whales, monkeys, scorpions, kodo, etc.
Time and again, night elven stuff is chosen.

Where?

You keep adding to the pile of things never stated in lore.

That probably doesn’t look good for you then, because I didn’t see anything that was a “dunk” or even anything approaching that.

Maybe it’s your language you need to be more specific and careful about.

Sure those things are found in nature. They aren’t really symbolic of nature though, I don’t think you understand what I mean.

I don’t remember where I read it. Whichever Night Warrior is in Ardenweald comments on it. I’ll bookmark your post and cast Raise Ally when I come across it next.

See above. Also, Ysera choosing the night elves and binding them to the ED is said in lore. Ion Kozzikostas specifically states that Ardenweald mirrors the Emerald Dream.

“Now get out of my realm.”
A fantastic way to reward the guy who just saved Ardenweald.

That sure is an opinion. Also? A moved goalpost.

There’s a whole gamut of natural things Blizzard could’ve chosen to put into the death realm for nature deities. They specifically and only chose night elven things.

No, it’s the same goalpost, you just missed the point.

They were never just Night Elf things. If you think so then I guess Duskwood is a Night Elf zone, and literally any other zone that’s a forest, is dark, and has big trees and deer, or having any connection to the Emerald Dream.

No it’s not.

Night Elves were bound to the tree, the tree was bound to the Dream via Ysera’s blessing, thus, Night Elves were bound to the Dream.

People feel Ardenweald is Night Elf centric because the notion of deciduous forests and Fairies are intimately wound up in real life fairy mythology and even in most “high fantasy” universes thanks to Tolkien.

Night Elves are fairies and centaurs and night and stars and pretty things and houses in trees.

Trolls are jungles and tigers and bats and skulls and palm trees and vines and gold cities.

It’s that simple.

Plus increasingly seems line the Winter Queen herself has Elune ties.
