So far, not what I expected but not a total disaster as I feared in case the author would be biased(she is with nelves and elves in general) as Talanji is still her at the end though she got more buddy buddy with the Horde leadership that in my opinion still doesn’t deserve their current jobs.

Also a let down we didn’t see much participation of other Loas at making a swift job with Nathanos and the rebels.

Which is pretty interesting given how well she managed to humanize Nathanos. He was actually understanable and sympathetic at times… Which I never really thought I’d ever think.

Talanji is a member at first, walks out, and by books end is presumably ready to rejoin the Council.

Even if they aren’t at war with the Alliance atm, there’s still always some world ending threat on the horizon. It would be stupid of them to not be rearmed when it arrives.

As someone who was nervous about the book, I really like how she wrote Bwonsamdi as his humorous and snide self, though he seemed a little angry at times. It’s probably because he was having the ‘life’ sucked out of him by Nathanos doing stuff to his shrines and he might’ve been in pain because of it.

I’m curious about whether the vision of Saurfang’s afterlife is true or not. The book leaves this open to interpretation and doesn’t specifically say that Bwonsamdi rescued Saurfang’s soul. Is Saurfang in the Maw?

I almost hope this is a lie, because even though it is obvious that Bwonsamdi is not being villain batted, he’s still a morally questionable spirit/power who has no qualms about tricking people into unfair deals. That’s part of his character. (and is the nature of Baron Samedi/Papa Ghede which he is based off of)

Maybe Saurfang went to an Afterlife we haven’t seen yet, that’s mostly for Orcs/Tauren? Might also explain why we haven’t seen Cairne yet. He’s there too

And yeah, while he’s a cool character, be very careful when making Deals with Ol’ Bwonsamdi. Just look how Rastakhan ended up

Also the thing about Bwonsamdi getting pissed and mass summoning an army of spirits, I was thinking he’d do that too. I just knew he was Stand user lol

Talanji’s and Zek’hans part just made me want them to be in a relationship.

He saved her from an assassin and the dude save some kids. I was hoping by the end of the book she’d start to show a bit more interest.

I thought they complimented each other well. She’s very headstrong and he’s very laid back. He’s a small town troll from a small village, she’s a princess from a big city. We already have the formula for a romantic comedy. Just give me like… five pages of fluff like they did with Thalyssra and Lor’themar.

Unless my reading was wrong, Bwonsamdi is aware that souls are going straight to the Maw and and not the peaceful afterlife in the Shadowlands as they are supposed to. Which means to me, that whatever vision he showed Zakhan, it was either just a trick to get him on his side or a vision of what Saurfang’s afterlife was supposed to be.

I was under the impression the vale is now healed, with the most recent patch adding invasions to the zone. Is that not the case?
