Shadows Rising: State of Azeroth Details

It was only confirmed in the interview.

Edit, after his edit. Confirmed might be, but itā€™s in the book.
Zekhan sees it even for himself. He was there.

What, he sees Saurfang in the Maw?

No, the afterlife heā€™s shown was idyllic and nice and be believed thatā€™s where Saurfang went.

Then he got killed, and Zekhan was falling into the Maw until he was pulled out by Bwonsamdi. Once he getā€™s back to reality, heā€™s like ā€œWhat the hell man, that was nothing like you showed meā€.

Yep thank you. Thatā€™s exactly it.

Figured as much. Bwonsamdi given the circumstances he did have something to gain by lying. Biggest red flag for me was the stated fact everyone was going to the maw no matter what.

And what does he say?

Thatā€™s true. Bwonsamdiā€™s quite silly and cute for what he is/looks like. He strikes me as being very Chaotic Neutral, since heā€™s a little bit questionable with all of his deals and such. Judging by how he is in the book, Iā€™m kind of worried that theyā€™re going to start writing him as a cruel, bloodthirsty, tyrantic monster who wants nothing more than souls and people/spirits/other Death entites to be his slaves. If they do, I think Iā€™ll end up getting so pissed that Iā€™ll want to quit playing WoW altogether. Iā€™m worrying about my favorite character being ruined :frowning:

Butā€¦ I guess he has a reason to be mad, since he was getting drained of power by Nathanos and his goons. Imagine feeling so sick you can barely do anything and this idiot comes and tries to kill you. Itā€™d piss me off, thatā€™s for sure
I defiantly couldnā€™t see him running a Covenant, heā€™s too happy lol

Something along the lines that souls have been falling there for a while now, but heā€™s been stopping Troll souls from going. Donā€™t believe he acknowledged his trick, which is why it requires the author to spell it out in that interview.

Well, at least this does solve what I thought was a plot hole with the whole Nazmir having troll ghosts passing into Bwonsamdiā€™s domain if the Maw was eating everything.

So, yay! Getting answers to questions.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I was questing in Nazmir with in alt, went to the Necropolis and thought ā€˜Wait, these souls are all going to be Muehā€™zala chow? Daaamnā€™. You know, Bwonsamdi keeping some trolls purposely undead might prevent them from also getting past his grasp too

Hey, quick question, Wowpedia lists Calia as a member of the Horde, with the icon next to her name and everything.

Is that true? Did she officially join the Forsaken in the book?

Man seeing Derek with the Horde symbol was weird.

I guess Calia and Derek just joined the Forsaken and thus are members of the Horde by proxy? Itā€™s just oddā€¦ especially since didnā€™t Blizz say something about Calia not joining the Horde, or was that my fevor dream?

Yes. At the Horde council meeting they make a point of saying both are Forsaken now and therefore horde. Talanji very pissed about having a proudmoore in the horde. Calia is even with Lillian at the Horde Council.

Let me clarify by saying I know Calia is Vossā€™ adviser, and her presence at a meeting caused problems with Talanji due to Caliaā€™s friend Derek being a Proudmoore, and wanting to talk with Jaina and all that.

I mean meant, sheā€™s an actual member of the Forsaken, rather than an independent being brought on as an adviser for Lilian?

I guess she is, this was the goal of her becoming undead after all, Iā€™m just surprised how quickly it happened.

Yes. Lillian pretty much says ā€˜Derek and Calia are part of the forsaken and therefore part of the Horde.ā€™

When Zekhan accused Bwonsamdi of lying about the vision of death he sent to him of Saurfang, the loa admitted it. The only souls that Bwonsamdi has been saving from the Maw are trolls.

Which is the height of hilarity since 2 years ago Lilian was not a member of the Horde or the Forsaken, but Blizzard picked her out of a line-up because reasons and she has an available voice-actor so who cares if it makes no sense??

Lest everyone forget, thereā€™s still 0 explanation for Garona, Voss, or Rexxar returning/joining the Horde in BfA. Vossā€™s position makes no sense.

I know what you mean, especially when it comes to characters like Thrall and Lorā€™themar acting as if her being in the Horde is just natural. It was a bit surreal that Thrallā€™s choice for Horde representatives to come with him to Nordrassil to meet the night elves included Calia.

Side note I thought that it was hilarious that Tyrande was so pissed at Anduin that she was ignoring his multiple missives but responded to Thrallā€™s one.

Garona straight up admits that her services were requested and Rexxar never left the Horde and just generally did his own thing until joining the war effort. However the explanation of why heā€™s joined the war effort doesnā€™t make sense and I 100% give you about Voss.

She was just sort of there and for that she grew on me, I still donā€™t get why Blizzard shoe horned her into the leadership/representative spot over existing Forsaken characters. Case in point Dark Ranger Velonara sided with the Horde against the Sylvanas.

Iā€™m probably being weird but I get the feeling that Derek was re-invented and thrown in purely to be sympathy-in-a-can for the forsaken. I canā€™t think of any other reason why heā€™d be part of the faction. It makes me dislike the character already and he hasnā€™t really done anything yet.

That could be considered an advantage. I donā€™t think the council would acept a Forshaken with Sylvsnas ties as a leader.
