“Just change it” means they have the liberty to do whatever they want and you CANNOT get upset with any choice they make since you didn’t help direct them.
Why does Shadow always have to be a borrowed power frankenstein instead of just being fun like in the shadow orb era?

You have an ability you use every 3rd global that is instant cast and another instant cast ability that has the same sanity generation as a single tick of mind flay. Yes, when you have to move 50 yards you lose damage…welcome to every rdps not named hunter and that scenario never comes up if you preplan.
In that regard they don’t need to change anything based on his opinion then either right? Shadow is fine now as it is fundamentally different from Affliction.
Old shadow is basically SL Affliction. Replace
Mind Flay with SBolt/Drain Soul
Mind Blast with UA
SW:P+VT with Corruption+Agony
Devourering Plague with Malefic Rapture as a spender.
Except it can’t decide what it wants to be. They’re constantly changing the systems for Shadow, far more than they mangle systems for other classes. They can’t decide on a core theme, and the Voidform system not only changed the theme of the class, but changed the lore of the class.
At one time, Shadow was seen as the bad boys of the Priesthood. The priests who would find an excuse to go out and smoke or have a good drink. Now they’re nothing more than void worshipping cultists.

I don’t mind voidform, but it’s trash having to go into a special state just to deal damage, and even then it’s not good damage.

Welcome to half the reworked specs in the game. Where are you advocating for hunters, warlocks, shamans, druids and every other class that has received substantial changes over the years? What makes SPriest so special to get complained about?
I can, and I will. If I go to a restaurant and my meal tastes terrible, I can tell them that it tastes terrible and leave it at that. I don’t have to advise them on how they should adjust their recipe.
I am not a game designer, nor do I pretend to be. That’s their job.

Alright you can tell them to “change the spec” and not give them any input. They could rework spriest into a mdps spec for whatever reason and they would be doing exactly what you asked them to do.
Me personally I’ve liked plenty of posts both supporting rolling back the void priest to a shadow priest, and rolling back survival to a range spec.

Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? Changes are tested on alpha and beta servers first. If the changes they make are still not fun to play, the alpha and beta testers will tell them so. It is then on Blizzard to listen and adjust.

And that if things go sour when you hit voidform … you’re up the creek.
I mean, you pool resources, just to get a short lived buff.
Now here is one way they could do voidform that I think would take some heat off them.
Build up the sanity like normal. When you hit Voidform you get a one minute buff with a stack, say 1 stack per 10 Insanity. Each spell you cast takes a stack off the buff. When the last stack is removed, your insanity plummets back down to zero.
I mean, yes it sucks if you pop a CD and are forced to move. But those are CDs … they’re meant for burst. We have to do voidform JUST to do adequate damage.

I suspect blizzard plans to use the new legendary’s to shore up some of the broken classes, and won’t act until those prove ineffective similar to how a number of bfa specs lived or died based on how good their traits were. Might not be the case, but I’m very much looking forward to seeing a preview to the new legendary system so we can see a more realistic look at shadowlands class balance.
Move Void Bolt to be cast outside of Voidform silly, Insanity generation and all.
Mind Blast becomes instant cast while in Voidform. Also, I’d rather I just have my class back. Why is that wrong?

The only good thing about Shadow Priests I’ve heard is loose comments they know some classes are in a horrible spot right now. So … until we see more info, all we can hope for is that they simply havent gotten around to shooting the old dog called Voidform, and bringing us a new and improved (blegh) Shadow Priest.

You only complaining about it now? I stopped using SPriest early in BfA right around the time I stopped using disc priest after they nerfed that into the ground. Than I just stopped using a priests period because there are much better options than a part time warlock who thinks they can heal.

I hear they are getting a new spell that insanity procs called “depression”. This spell has a stacking percent chance to pop a void demon that mind controls you off a cliff the longer you play shadow.

Before the void crap, I always thought shadow priest drew power from the shadowlands. Listening to the shadow spell effects and sounds in classic again reminded me of this. SL is the perfect time to return to better themes?
