is this true? if so i imagine wow will lose millions of players, please say its not true
Tis not, I’m not even sure what that means. All the previous content is still there, nothing’s being removed.
Did you hear this from your uncle’s friend’s cousin’s husband that works for Blizzard?
i think you’re going to need to elaborate.
exactly what is it that you think is going to happen?
which history is allegedly being erased, and how?
This. A lot.
(sneaks Nobully a cookie)
Don’t listen to PC Gamer.
They’re saying it erases the history becuase a player new to WoW goes from Exile’s Reach right to BFA and then to SL. They don’t get to choose. However I’m sure many of those new players will make alts and can experience other xpacs and see the history.
This is a case of PC Gamer being a tad over dramatic.
Think of it like this. There’s a movie. It’s really popular. It spawns a sequel. Then another sequel. Then a whole franchise.
But they don’t just release these movies. Instead, before you can watch any of them, you have to watch all the movies they released before. Like if before you could watch The Avengers they made you sit through Iron Man and Captain America and Thor and probably some Hulk movie, idk. But if you didn’t do that they physically would not let you watch the next movie.
Now, instead, they want to let you cut to the chase and watch the movie you want to watch. All those other movies still exist - you can go watch them whenever you want, and they’ll still refer to them when making new ones - but newcomers to the franchise are no longer forced to deal with them before getting into what they’re hyped for.
??
What are you even talking about? No, it will not ‘erase World of Warcraft’s history’ I don’t even know where you got that from.
PC Gamer. See my post above.
Nah bro that’s
No, it isn’t. I’m assuming I know where you got this. There was a thread not long ago outraged that there was a new starting zone. However, after a new player plays the new starting zone they can then pick the starting zone they want to use the next time they level up.
No, it’s not true.
It kind of ruins some characters, but only the afterlife versions. Think warlords, alternate reality.
OP is mentioning this atrociously written, click-bait article if anyone was wondering where these threads keep coming from
You read that stupid article?
It was clickbait. You can ignore it.
Lol @ wow having millions of players
Hey! We saw that! No favourites!
Not sure what you are trying to infer in regards to WoW’s history. Do you just mean like what they did for Illidan in Legion and retconned him from a villian to a misunderstood hero?
I wouldn’t really describe that as a retcon. Illidan always saw himself as a misunderstood hero, we just started listening instead of farming him for purples.
(I honestly have no idea why we were supposed to fight Illidan in the first place. That was not a very well put together expansion story-wise…)
I just mean from a players perspective, he was treated as a villian until Legion.
Everything the game tells us up until that point was Illidan betrayed his people for power.
omm nom nom
needed that today!
/hides the crumbs of evidence
people need to go spam those fb/insta links at the bottom of the article and tell them their writers are junk.
