Shadowlands will erase World of Warcraft’s history – that’s a problem

This is a great analogy. To elaborate even further, instead of watching like 30 minutes of all those movies in a confusing montage before you get to the new one, you can now watch them fully (almost) one by one. I think this helps establish lore more than it erases it.

ty so much i am so relieved saw this in facebook and straight into panic mode lol, i love this game and the beginning is as important as the current content to me

No. Most of Shadowlands is expanding on open ended or poorly explained plot points from the past.

These are considered retcons, but good kinds. Retcons that expand the lore without completely changing pre-established lore are always welcome.

The existence of Ardenweald does not destroy or compromise the Emerald Dream, it merely adds another layer of depth to it.

Out with the old, in with the new.

This is an exaggeration of anxiety based on something that has not even happened yet. Warcraft’s lore is not going to get obliterated.

It ruins nothing. People just being Karen’s cause they’re behind their keyboards.

Imagine the Jailer wins and our entire history is re-written and we return as no-bodies in a world that doesn’t remember who we are. muahahhahaha

I’m more worried about the event that is occurring a week after launch.

Millions of fair weather fans.

Thousands of whales.

Less than a million die hard fans.

Of course that’s why they stopped reporting subscription numbers and started reporting revenue. Because the store + whale can probably replace a million subscribers on its own.

They can’t erase something they never had. Wow history is literally whatever they want it to be or need it to be. They are sorry to say, not oike other games or story with a nailed down history.

LMAO WOW. Exaggerate much. Lose millions? LMAO. Ummm no.

OP saw a stupid headline and rushed here to post his stupidity. Archive link because screw giving them clicks for this.

That article is the perfect example of how game reviewers and articles are utterly useless.

Wow history isn’t being erased, new characters are merely brought through BFA so they understand what’s going on in shadowlands as the story rolls right into it.

Additionally chromie time has been known about for a long time where you can select the xpac to lvl in.

That pc gamer article is nothing but clickbait and a desperate attempt to get more ratings and readers.

Don’t read reviews or gaming articles. Id trust a streamer over them.

They say they’re erasing content, yet they contradict themselves and link a picture in the article detailing how you can access the old content.

Unfathomable.
