Shadowlands Survey

It’s perfectly fine for them to send out surveys to just a slice of their customers. It’s not a snub to not have gotten one. This is sampling, not voting.

Having said that, I find the timing here interesting. This is evidence that they seem something is amiss, that their internal stats are raising alarms. It’s interesting to compare this to Cataclysm. In that expansion they seem to have held off admitting there was a big problem for nearly a year. Maybe they’ll be faster this time?

I have some particular things to tell them if they send me a survey, but it’s ok if they don’t.

Happy customer is a staying customer which always goes back. Stupid comment.

If the customers reject your product they have the last word.

if i made every business decision based on what my customers wanted to hear, some of them would be in big trouble

I doubt that you forget customers pay you your wage and provide your lifestyle. You really think you provide a bad service with bad products people will come back?

I bet they’re bleeding subs badly atm cause this game is one big crap fest and they have no idea how to fix or the resources to fix it. To be honest they had to make up for the new cfo they hired and payed 15mil just to sign on the dotted line and then 999 p/a and he did all the sacking and what about the budget cut backs we don’t even know off. Hence subs been increased and no content.

Lol a 30-minute survey. Are they serious?

From what I read last night the ones that receives this survey are not supposed to talk about it tell anyone or do a video on it. Blizzard going into damage mode subs must be dropping like flies atm. Sad.

There isn’t a wide audience that wants to pay $15/month for highly timegated content, plain and simple.

They have upped the subs in two countries asking for more money what a joke.

Sounds like bait or you got phished

idk to be honest if it that or Blizzard was trying to get this survey quite hence the game is in a bad way.

Sure, and when two customers want opposite things, one of them will not be happy no matter what is decided, so who do you listen to?

Hint: The answer isn’t “whoever screams the loudest on the forum”.

A lot of the “customers should be listened to” stuff amounts to “listen to ME dangit!!”. Not all of it, but humans are inherently selfish, and this is something we (supposedly) do for fun, so it’s natural to want the game to cater more closely to one’s preferences.

Blizzard almost assuredly has a business plan that accounts for the ebb and flow of sub counts. There are likely tolerances within which the game is considered to be doing fine. There are probably analysts who type up professional-looking emails or reports or whatever to tell the executives how things are trending and what degree of action, if any, should be taken.

Provide feedback, that’s what the forums and surveys and such are for. Just be realistic and realize that the answer to your request/suggestion/threat might be “no”.

If subs were to devolve into an untenable nosedive, honestly, Blizzard would deserve it. They’re the ones with all the data.

No as a owner of any business the policy is keep the customer happy end of story. As for the Analyst’s team that a load of crap! then why did they have the invites to do beta? and they don’t listen to them. Why listen to analyst’s team. It’s their way or the highway. And people are taking the highway now. The only plan blizzard have is to bleed this game dry and watch them sell it and run when that happens and there is one Country made it know to them they would love to by it. And subs are taking a nosedive big time atm.

I think they probably feel people on the forums lie for attention, so a random sampling of people will give more accurate information.

Even if they don’t think forum goers are exaggerating, the people who will write multi page tirades against something are pre-selected to be those who hate it. A general census of how people feel would include the “mehs” and the pleased enough. Brownnosers would also be more inclinded to post on the forums, so they probably want to know how those with less extreme views feel, or if the vocal portion reflects actual opinions.

I wouldn’t read too much into the request for secrecy. It could just be they’re trying to preserve the independence of the answers.

Yeah being a kid with no responsibilities is great isn’t it.

Oh I’m sorry… did the mean world force you to grow up and take responsibility?

No. Policy is keep the business profitable. Customer satisfaction is a part of that, yes, but that doesn’t include personally catering to every single one of your 11 million customers.

Businesses have a plan. They understand the ebb and flow of their business. They understand no matter what they do (including doing nothing at all) they can lose customers. If the loss in customers exceeds what is tolerable, then perhaps the business will shift…but if it means a change in their core philosophy, maybe they won’t.

I get that hating on Blizzard is the cool thing to do in GD and that’s fine, but customers are not gods, nor should they be. Blizzard are the ones with the data, and they’ll make their decisions based off of the data in aggregate. Input from the forums and surveys is counted in that but anyone thinking it’s the sole driving force is deluded.

They said don’t give the survey to someone else or post the questions, it doesn’t say anything about “don’t mention you got a survey.” I don’t think that’s in itself a violation.

I just levelled an alt to 60, pretty early for me to be doing that in an expansion, but I was just so bored. Look at the map, quests for anima - so exciting. I’m not motivated to be here. Think I call this one a hard miss for Blizzard which is sad, they needed a home run on this one.
