Professions changed back to being worthwhile again.
No more bop crafting mats.
Combat perks from professions return.
Sockets on some gear by default and smiths able to make belt buckles that add a socket again.
Tertiary stats from gems/enchants.
Talent tree structure revamped to be more like Classic.
Reforging returns.
Justice and Valor points return.
Warforging/Titanforging revamped. Warforging gives an item +5 ilvls. Titan Forging gives +10. You can pay valor points to warforge (add +5 ilvls) and then titanforge (add another +5 ilvls) an item that didn’t get a lucky upgrade when you acquired it.
Race customization overhaul. More options for ALL races/allied races, including new body types or body sliders if possible.
New cosmetic items that are dyeable. The system would not use set colors but rather a color spectrum so you can pick the exact shade you want. This would allow matching colors to current sets that are missing pieces and/or allow more creative mix and match with odd pieces to make a cohesive look.
Unlockable spell customization options similar to Warlock’s green fire. I’d love my mage spells to be the same blue/black void color of the void elf heritage wings.
Pathfinder allows flight as soon as its complete. None of this part1/part2/then wait junk.
Playable Alliance High Elves ( I know I know, it’s not likely to happen but I still want them)
Some of what I want already seems on the table… it remains to be seen if it actually pans out though. Bop crafting mats SUCK and I hope they do away with that in Shadowlands.
I am a bit upset that allied races are being left out of the customization bonanza… especially since most of them already have less options than the core races and the cores are just going dwarf them in options come 9.0. I hope they don’t make allied races wait too long or maybe even slip in some options for them in 9.0 itself. The first four allied races in particular need more options.
No pvp vendors sucks and I don’t understand why Blizzard ever thought that was a good idea.
I don’t mind the idea of a level squish so long as I can solo all the old content just like I currently do. I am not keen on more “borrowed power” though and hope that outside of covenant abilities and soulbinds, there’s actual things to gain from leveling up that carries forward beyond Shadowlands.
i remember spending hours just to get 2 perks from professions just for pvp,. Now? Whats the point in professions? Only good for start of the expansion then becomes useless.
If they give me a reason to farm for power increase im there!
Unlike now in bfa where you log in collect your weekly lottery box and log out.
I really hope the jailers tower is good and worth farming out in shadowlands.
1.) Dryad/Keeper of the Grove Shapeshift for Restoration and/or Balance Druids, rather than Moonkin form. Horde would get Centaurs, both male and female.
2.) Remove Pathfinder for flying in WoD, Legion, and BfA expansions.
3.) Loosen the Allied Race unlock restrictions, such as reducing the amount of reputation from Exalted to perhaps Honored or Revered, and to reduce the Achievements needed.
The problem with a talent tree like Classic’s is that you think you’ll have more options, but like anything else, a meta will eventually form and, if players want to be optimal in their class, they’ll fall in line with whatever that meta talent build is.
True, some players don’t care about that and will use a wacky talent build because they can but this community has proven itself to be restrictive rather than inclusive in group content, and someone using a talent build they like versus what will play best, is more likely to be excluded than included. And then the complaints start anew.
Do talents need a revision/restructuring? Definitely. But is the Classic model of 1-5 points in each talent per tier the best option? I don’t think so. They can do better.
Great thread. Despite the apologists stating those of us who have concerns simply don’t fit into the mmorpg world, I will list exactly what I want in Shadowlands (and yes, I want the changes to be big because BFA has shown they are completely on the wrong path).
1- Make professions useful. Other mmorpgs have done this, no reason WoW can’t
2- Completely revamp pvp. Make it slower, remove a lot of the ccs. Allow more interrupts for casters.
3- Get rid of Mythic + as well as the million different difficulty levels in this game. LFR/Normal/Heroic for raids. Normal/Heroic for dungeons. This was never a problem before Legion, why the hell was it introduced to begin with? Completely diminishes everything you do and sets up an endless treadmill
4- Titanforged gear - Same as above. If you get a drop, that should be that.
5- Pathfinder - Dumb, remove. Lock flying out for a year into an expansion if you want to force people to run around on ground. Don’t design ridiculous terrain.
6- And most importantly, STOP MAKING “SYSTEMS”. We never needed them in older WoW, WE DO NOT NEED THEM NOW. Stop trying to find creative ways to force us to log in and play. Make content, give loot drops, the end. If you want to create rep grinds for a few nice items, fine. But stop making it a primary feature of current WoW. Old school Wow got by just fine with just content and loot drops.
7- Get rid of world quests. In fact get rid of dailies too. Again they diminish actual quests. Stop being lazy and actually make enough quests to get people to max reputation.
8- Force people to at least group in dungeons to get anywhere. Make people play with each other again.
Thats fine. Just often people give feedback that has no realistic chance of actually taking place, and then become disgruntled when the feedback they were told wouldn’t happen…didn’t happen.
As long as you are ok with that, ask for whatever you want.
If the new Heroic is on par with M+ difficulty, then I don’t really care what they call it. The timer doesn’t have to remain, but if there’s going to be a difficulty setting at the top of the spectrum, it sure needs to be far more challenging than what is currently heroic.
I like TF, but it could use a way to upgrade gear even if you don’t get lucky.
SYSTEMS are the core part of the game. PVP is a system. Dungeons are a system. Raids are a system. I like having them try to come up with new things to do. I just wish they would do a better job listening to feedback when their new ideas need a lot more work.
So what do you want people to do outside of dungeons and raids?
Nah. I like being able to do stuff by myself if I want to. This is an MMO, sure, but that doesn’t mean you have to group up for every little thing. This game got a lot of it’s popularity from not needing to group up as much as it’s competitors.
If they were any way serious about maintaining class fantasy over spec fantasy they must seriously reconsider their direction for Survival in Legion and BFA.
