This is looking like a dumpster fire in the making. Delay it, make it better, and take some of the pressure off of your devs.

Expac looks good. Expac will have issues at launch, as every expac in every game does. It will be fixed. The problems do not appear to be systemic at this time, as they were with BFA, so it’s not an issue of any consequence.

This is their 8th expansion for this game. They have this down to a formula at this point. Are there still horrible bugs that prevent people from playing the game? Or is it just stuff they can tune while the game is out in prep for the raid launch after initial release?

It isn’t getting delayed. Delaying something is far easier when you are just doing pre-orders. Blizzard does a pre-purchase for its expansions. They have your money and the sale is complete. Since they announced a release date a month or so ago, they have been completing sales with an advertised release date. They are not going to open that barrel of monkeys.
Besides, they just announced the release date. They would look like complete idiots to their shareholders if they couldn’t meet the deadline that they gave themselves.
One way or the other, we are getting Shadowlands on the release date … no matter what shape it is in. The very people that would lose their jobs if it isn’t released on time are the ones that say when it is going to get released. Guess what they are going to pick.

Yeah, why even have an alpha or beta cycle if they can just do their tuning after they take people’s money…

I don’t think bfa was a dumpster fire. My biggest complaints were extremely not range friendly mechanics in nearly every dungeon, and nearly all affixes affecting range more than melee, and the rng of the lottery system.
Looks like they addressed both issues. I also felt that mythic plus was too punishing and could use more fun affixes, and low and behold we have prideful.
If you think k they need to delay to xpac because of crap like class design, and specs don’t feel satisfying, or some other stuff that effects fantasy or covenant locks that require a week to change, then I really just don’t agree with your opinion
Content creators aren’t wrong just because they’re content creators. Their criticisms are very valid and are echoed by a significant number of Beta testers who aren’t content creators, myself included.
There are some damn issues on the Beta. We’re talking classes getting completely broken from one build of the Beta to the next (Frost Mage, Unholy DK) and the game still being unplayable in some respects (we’re talking stuff like the flight path visual effect being dragged into dungeons, which Blizzard even said they haven’t been able to fix even though it’s among their top priorities). We’re talking Covenant abilities getting nerfed to utter uselessness. It’s big stuff happening less than a month away from the Shadowlands release.
Shadowlands need not delayed, already took my vacation
