I know it won’t be for some, but for me the pre-order goodies for Epic along with the Shadowlands reveal to date convinced me to buy it.

Well, you’re going to get one. All races will be able to be DKs as part of, I expect, the pre-9.0 chain where Bolvar helps light the fights against Scourge 2.0 and - with the help of DKs - gets us into Shadowlands.

True, but what I got from the post was that they thought it wouldn’t be until the prepatch.
To be fair, the most expensive one comes with 30 days of game time so if that alone is about $15 value the most expensive option is actually only $5 more than the one below it

Nope. I’ve got a lot of thinking to do and need more info as time passes. This game is drastically changing and I’m not sure if it’s going where I’m comfortable with.
Not that I blame them for making changes to keep it relevant to the current generation of gamers, but that group may not include me.
I just need time to think, process and research

To be fair the 30 time card/character boosts have no value except what blizz deems its worth.
Its sole purpose is to normalize the beached whale bundle and eventually that will be removed.

It’s hilarious that you think either optional package falls into whale territory.
$40 $60 $80 can hear the ocean.
Especially since the character boost is worthless with lvl crunch.

Boost saves me the time of leveling yet another alt. All the items separately add up to more than the bundle(based on retail value of similar items) so i went for it.
Besides, im going to play it. A lot.
Agree so much with you on this.
I still enjoy Blizzard, and D4 is looking pretty good. But WoW just continues to change. It seems like every expansion they try and drive the wedge deeper to alienate the veteran crowd more and more.
I mean, Shadowlands and stuff, visually looks great. But the art team always does an amazing job. But it all just feels…lacking. Almost like another filler expansion, to me at least. Truth be told, this is the first expansion reveal that I haven’t been hyped over. I’ll likely end up getting it because I love my guild and they know more about me than my close minded family. Need my guild for my sanity, lol.
Covenants are Legion Class Halls 2.0, which while nifty and shows potential promise, the whole premise of yet more temporary gimmicks as our player progression really irritates me.
Tower of the Damned is basically a D3 Rift, copied over to WoW.
The level squish also really irks me. Don’t get me wrong, leveling did need a revamp, along with talents, along with a unprune. At least we got part of that list. But they are only adding to the problem. We get yet another expansion of temporary gimmicks that will be removed when that expansion is over. So what happens in a few more expansions when leveling is once again crappy due to not gaining anything for half of it, because of all these temporary gimmicks.
Sigh. I love Blizzard but they have got to stop using so many bandaid’s that only make things worse down the road.
