Well if it is writen for the character and not the gender then the transition would be smooth, entertaining and fun. But, we got to remember. Even at their best, Blizzard writing is still very cringe.

If they dont kill her this expansion . Next cinematic will not have only 50% dislikes will be like diablo inmortal cinematic if we see sylvanas again.

btw play alliance in the final part of the war campaign, stay by the leaders, Alleria straight up says a whole plan then what do you know, Sylvannas does that plan herself.

Yeah because is a lot better ; make thousands of lives to suffer while they are dying , destroy cities , going stupid mode in a war that wasnt necesary .

Magni knows something is going wrong - he asks for help.
Khadgar knows legion was coming - he asks for help.
Sylvanas knows that something is wrong in shadowlands - go full secret and kill everyone so she can make her play good.

Uh, she’s actively SERVING the Jailer, who has subverted the proper flow of souls. That’s not fixing things, that’s BREAKING how things properly work. Soul are going to the MAW that aren’t SUPPOSED to be there. She’s not FIGHTING against the Jailer, she’s working FOR him. So she’s not fixing things, she’s trying to break things even more than they already are.
Maybe the situation between Sylvanas and Lirath could be different than Garrosh and Grom?
They cannot kill enough of the current line up to please me. Every new character that has been introduced since the end of wrath is weak simper weasel of a persona.
So, if they say ‘major lore’ character they mean one of the cool ones most likely from the original cast. That would be my guess… because the current creative team at Blizzard lacks a vision of epic grandeur free of political correctness from when stories were created to entertain, and not have some underlying agenda.
