When i enter the phylactery it just resets the raid encounter without any way for me to complete it, am i bugged or just doing something entirely wrong?
My understanding: I think only the raids up to Battle for Azeroth are intended to be soloable at the moment. There are people that CAN solo Shadowlands but the encounters haven’t had the rework.
Blizzard’s policy has been that it’s “n-2” up until late into TWW, where they’ll fix mechanics so Shadowlands can be soloable.
If someone has more updated information, I’d be glad to know.
With notable exceptions, such as Galakras in SoO no longer being soloable because they reimposed full raid mechanics to support Remix and haven’t gotten around to undoing that.
So it is possible, just an absolute pain. You just need to have some way to reliably summon a minion. (NOT a pet) I saw a report from Wowhead of someone doing this with a Headless Horseman’s Sinister Slicer. Though, that has a 10 minute cooldown, so you need to be able to 1-phase the Remnant of Kel’thuzad.
As a BM Hunter, it was substantially easier. Kill Kel’Thuzad like normal, kill and collect any Soul Fractures he may spawn, then kill any banshees as soon as they come up, because they will absolutely kill you in no time flat coming out. Once the Soul Fractures and banshees are dead, hit one of the abominations with a Dire Beast/Sinister Squashling, instantly take the portal, and DPS the Remnant down before it despawns. Dire Beast doesn’t have a long duration, so it took three phases for me, though I could probably push it down to two if I optimized better.
Ion’s philosophy was you shouldn’t be able to solo the last expansion, but before that you should. He clearly failed his own words.
I thought the devs had added an NPC tank for solo encounters with KT.
Well, for one, the post you were replying to was made over a month prior to the patch where they made it soloable lol.
