I can’t believe what I’m reading.
People in the classic forum telling me to be okay with shadowlands in a classic game has the whole world gone mad??
Worry not, friends.
The Classic model will end at Warlords of Draenor, the original expansion that was intended to herald in the new era and entice old players to return. However, this time it will be used as the focal point to bring the current (Retail) storyline back to the age before the First War where WoW version 2 will be rooted. This will occur after the conclusion of Last Titan.
This reset is intended as a new beginning, the likes of which Warlords was always intended.
Dont forget he is a Sylvanas simp too. Never Forget!

No. You are wrong. What we play in game is only the legends. none of this is actually canon lore. The actual shadowlands is synonymous with the afterlife in Azeroth. Diablo also has an afterlife…it’s usually Hell. StarCraft also has a few. SL in WoW is different from the actual one.
And the Shadowlands has been a part of WoW cannon for many years before the expac even came out.
There’s a dungeon in WOTLK that references the jailer
Which one? Just curious.
Utgarde Keep final boss.
wrath is retail, yes we know
Haven’t the Shadowlands always been a thing?
Like when our characters die we end up in the twisting nether but haven’t dead dead characters always gone to the Shadowlands?
Shadowlands was referenced before the expansion for it but left ambiguous.
I don’t think we see the half naked jailer in season of discovery just references to a shadowy and mysterious afterlife.
I can’t believe they referenced the Warlords of Draenor expansion in Classic.
This is some quality bait based on the responses lmao
You’d hope that it’s bait.
But based on the collective defecation storm people are whipping up over the outrageous idea of adding new rules to a temporary, non-competitive version of a 20 year old game, who knows?
TBC features? In my Vanilla? Literally Retail, all versions of WoW are now kill.
Like it or not the Shadowlands are part of WoW’s lore. And last I checked Classic is still WoW. Ergo the Shadowlands have always been canon to Classic.
Actually, the Shadowlands was first introduced to Warcraft canon in Chronicle Volume 1, who was authored by, wouldn’t you know it, Chris Metzen.
We sensationalised a video of a guy dropping the bag and forgetting the word “afterlife”?
The shadowlands are a part of wows canon like it or not. And you are on the losing side since you are stuck in a very tiny place in time. Wows story keeps going forward
We got a good look at the Shadowlands and how it was intended to be written pre retail in Wrath.
I don’t imagine the retail expansion is anything like what metzen intended so you can disregard it but the Shadowlands as an idea has been in the game since before WoW even came out.
Actually since we’re already seeing deviation in historical events, for the classic servers no Shadowlands is not canon. There’s no way we can be sure it will even happen. Nothing after what we have available to us is canon.
