Shadowlands is NOT alt friendly

But apparently logging into the forums on a lvl 10 alt to troll everyone is an acceptable use of an alt, amirite?

There should always be progression for alts but if the game isn’t fun to push through the early progression after the first time you complete it, so that you can reach more fulfilling content, we have a problem.

Sure of course. i’m not asking to break the game around my lazy and/or addictive behavior, unlike these guys? Lol

If you consider how alts worked in past expansions broken…

Well but I think there’s a huge difference between 1) Gimmee every BiS for free! and 2) “You, sir, get nothing!”

If you know what I mean. A wide gulf between those two options, a potential continuum. Pick your descriptor.

TBH if you think this expansion is less alt friendly than… any… other expansion, you either haven’t played them or you’re very jaded. I can sustain 5 60s easily. Sure, Torghast is kinda annoying to do on all, but that’s literally it. They’re all at least 195, which is capable of doing anything and alt would ever need to do. Most are 205+

I am skeptical. My feeling is they can find a way to implement a vendor that has so many strings attached that most players can’t make use of him.

Alt friendly heck so far from what i seen it ain’t even loot friendly i don’t know what they did but man does loot even exist and whats up with the ilvls nerfs in some of the content in game now lol!? If i wanted vanilla i would play it i hope the first patch blows my mind away or will be the first expansion ill ignore all the way until the next expansion never done that before.

Not everyone can play 8 hours a day, 7 days a week.

That’s…nice? Proud of you…lovely. I have a family, a job…I can’t sit and spend hours a day. You limit yourself to a MAX of 2-3 hours every 2-3 days of playing the game like a LOT of adult players have to do, A lot of us can NOT play every single day, we can’t treat this game like a part time job. Once you limit yourself and play the way a lot of working class adults have to, then come back and say you can do this in 10 days. Also? No guild help, no friends, you’re SOLO doing this completely on your own.

I’ve played as much as I’m able and I have Torghast level 3 unlocked now. It’s taken me since Shadowlands dropped to get that far because Torghast is such a HUGE time sink. I do Torghast? I don’t have time to do anything else, nothing, I can’t do the maw quests, renown, anima farming, world quests, nothing but Torghast that day because remember…often? 2 hours max is all I have for the game in a day. It’s a GAME, it should NOT require massive hours invested to make simple progress, and this is simple crap, bread and butter basic rep grind BS with different names attached. We’re essentially doing Netherwing grinding ad nauseum here but instead of doing it for a set of mounts? We have to do it to progress and try to keep pace with the storyline, we can’t DO anything until we’ve grinded out 3-5 different Netherwing level grindfests. That’s the issue. How could anyone stomach it once, let alone again on an alt with no catch up system to make the alts easier? It’s bad design, once our mains are there, there is little to no enjoyment to be had, no motivation or desire to repeat the process on alts and alts are the longevity of an expansion, they’re the sub keepers that keep players playing that aren’t Arena/Raid minded.

Dude, you’re a warrior… Are you sticking to it? What are you playing, PVP?

blizz need to give soul ash from other sources …at least until rank4 cap (5250?) so alt dont need to wait 1 month for max lvl legendary.

LOL, did it with Legion, dropped out about midway through. Skipped BFA completely because like hell was I going to be forced to PVP to progress in any aspect of the game. Now…I don’t know, I really hope it gets better. I’ve already started playing old content from Legion because…I just can’t handle the boring, dull, lackluster grindfest for no rewards. Weeks without an upgrade is just demoralizing.

Sounds like you want a second main

You don’t have to do half of this stuff

Yes, you do.

Doing Torghast twice a week on multiple characters is very time consuming and tedious.

I have 5 level 60s. If I did Torghast twice a week on all 5 that would be 60 floors of Torghast per week. I’ve been skipping it on some of them because it’s too tedious.

Lame excuse I see people using in every thread on Anima.

They created the Sanctum and Anima and then massively time-gated it. If we were able to look at stats, I doubt the majority of the playerbase is making much progress on the system let alone bought many of the cosmetics you can buy with anima. Just doing table missions cripples your anima gain and most of us simply are never going to farm every anima WQ that’s up every day.

I’ve been wanting to upgrade my “mains” anima conductor for a month or so now. Had the souls for several weeks. Just getting 10k Anima when you don’t do WQs constantly and do some table missions is absurdly slow.

If hardly anyone is even bothering with the system in its current state, their design is a failure and needs to be changed.

Making them yourself is an even larger investment than buying one on the AH due to how leveling them per slot works.

Leather and mail are the ones that are a real problem though. Cloth is dirt cheap and plate is middle of the road. They didn’t balance LWing very well at all.

It’s probably also a disaster on small servers.

BFA was pretty easy to catch up tbh :-x Some of my alts I barely played had higher HoA level than my main lol…

You don’t need to cap everything on every character. You don’t need 5 toons with level four legendaries. A level one legendary will suffice for most characters

If you haven’t upgraded your heart of azeroth since the expansion launched you’re not even doing world quests or heroic dungeons. I don’t understand why you’d be posting here about alts being too hard to find time for when you’re not even spending time on your main doing anything. If your perogative is to do cosmetic stuff then sure thats fine but you don’t need maxed legendaries or high level gear to do those things.

You don’t need to play the game at all, but that isn’t a meaningful argument in terms of alt-friendliness.

It’s no one’s fault but yours that you feel like you need to do all the content on ten characters.

You want several mains, not alts.
