“But muh legion artifact grind, and muh azerite”
yeah BFA was worse than Shadowlands for alts, that doesn’t make Shadowlands alt friendly…
Alt Friendly would mean, log on, cap a toon, gear it up, ready to push high content.
Shadowlands requires you to:
Cap renown
Farm hours and hours of torghast for soul ash
Gear a character in a neutered loot system
Farm your correct conduits
farm your BiS legendary recipe
Farm anima
if you’re broke, farm gold to BUY the legendary base items and missives (or buy a wow token gg blizz)
farm 10 mythic plus dungeons and hope you get a decent choice from the box
farm farm farm farm farm farm farm
After ALL of that you’re ready for norm raid, starting rated pvp, and keys less than +10…
all these retarded content producers overhyping the hell out of this expansion and telling me how ‘shadowlands is so alt friendly all the grind is gone m8’
but yeah “muh bfa, muh legion artifact grind”
There has never been a beginning of an expansion where you ding max and are ready to start pushing top content that same day. This post is such a joke.
-ITs a fresh alt bruh… you need to grind out layers 2,3,4,5,6,7 then you have layer 8… and thats not guaranteeing you complete them in which case you wasted an hour of time…
-Conduits are a big deal lmao, some bis conduits are 400-600 dps increase
Again its a fresh alt “you should have your legendary by now” doesnt really apply
Rolling a fresh alt is the whole point of this thread that i think you completely missed…
Debatable, you can actually upgrade your covenant set, which while not optimal, will give you a decent leg up when it comes to gearing outside of raids.
Debatable, you can mix and match conduits easily without much of a penalty, so if you don’t have the one you specifically want, it’s not that big of an issue.
There really isn’t a BiS legendary, and that’s especially true when you consider that Blizzard can and has tuned the legendary powers down or up at will, which is why many high-end raiders didn’t bother with legendaries right away, seeing as they weren’t sure if Blizzard would nerf them and make them worth less than other legendary powers.
Anima is a completely optional currency that you don’t need to farm unless you want to.
Or you can make them yourself? Shock horror, that’s a thing.
You literally do not have to do this unless M+ is your chosen end-game content, and if it is, you’re doing that content anyway, so have fun.
The entire tone of your post indicates you think you should be able to ding 60 and jump into an AOTC group right away. This isn’t 8.3 where you got showered with catch-up mechanics because the expansion was coming to an end.
I’ve accepted that we’ll continue to see these threads until Blizz fully embraces this “play one character, progress ten” ethos that this community has decided is the standard for alt-friendly.
As someone with 5 level 60s, I LOVE this expansion compared to previous ones. It’s glorious being able to gear them so easily. I haven’t geared alts up to par in even half the time that I can do in SL.
I don’t know what to tell you dude. If you just hit 60 on a fresh character expect to put some time into it. Your main should be well off enough at this point where you only need to play it a couple hours a week to keep it relevant. Having to play a character a lot for a couple weeks doesn’t seem like a huge commitment if you actually want to play it.
At least it isn’t BFA where you’re literally locked behind a month of timegated dailies to get your proper essences and a boatload of vision runs to level your cloak ontop of spamming all forms of content to get corrupted gear. Now THAT was alt unfriendly.
What is an alt character if its not something you can swap to and push content with? whats the point in having a level 60 character if its still wearing the heart of azeroth?? to farm old raids for Transmog cool bruh. I dont understand what your idea of an alt actually is
Different from your idea it seems. If you want to switch between characters, you totally can. Just you’ll need to put the time in to do so like you did your main.
(If your alt is still in a HoA, you haven’t even started. You’re a fresh 60.)
Finish your Covenant campaign and get the EZ 197 set and fill in the remaining slots with 197 Honor Set. Should take you 2-3 days.
I do agree though torghast on alts is a drag but that’s about all I agree with. They should make it unlock account wide and maybe put a ilvl requirement on the higher layers but people would complain about that too.
The problem is that everyone else running just one toon is going to outgear any alt extremely. And it takes too long to take an alt anywhere even close to that.
