I have been patient to see what the reveal would show us. Here is my initial thoughts on what I have heard and seen:
Shadowlands lack of player agency is very apparent.
This is because they have devised a web of systems players, veteran or new, can be tangled with.
Players have effectively become slaves to systems and not being able to organically play the way that they want that they see fit for their own play session.
Thus, it appears that shadowlands is doubling down on system overload and it will be front loaded unlike BFA which had systems spread out.
