⌛ Shadowlands...How long before we get BORED of the World Quests?

Do you like World Quests?

I sure don’t

A world of fantasy, dragons, and magic, and the best they can do is:
“Go kill 10 boars”…“Go collect 5 plants”…“Go wash the dishes”.

I’m worried about Shadowlands

Apart from “Torghast”, which is a solo Mythic + dungeon, there doesn’t seem to be any content apart from: “Mythic + dungeons, Raids, and of course World Quests”.

Oh and I forgot…the Anima Power Grind!

I remember watching the Blizzcon deep dive panel, and the moment Ion Hazzikostas started talking about Anima power…everyone knew exactly what he was talking about.

Anima Power Grind…just like the Azerite power grind…just like the Artifact power grind.

This “Expansion” really does just feel like patch 8.4, but with a different lick of paint.

I’m disappointed there’s no Necromancer Class (Perfect expansion to introduce it).
And after 15 years…World of Warcraft STILL doesn’t have player housing…oh my god…WHY???

So in summary…

Shadowlands is beginning to worry a lot of people including myself at how little new content was actually revealed.

If this “expansion” just turns out to be the same old, same old, and 95% of our time is spent doing dreary World Quests…I’m sorry to say but this expansion is just gonna become BFA 2.0, and people are gonna quit within the first 2 months.

They’re slightly better than dailies were, and with tangible rewards.

And i don’t know who’s spending 95% of their time doing world quests. That’s your thing, not everyone’s. A lot of people spend 15 minutes a day doing their four and then drop them. Others stop altogether when they hit exalted.

You know how they specified that it’s not something that can be grinded like AP

They’ve made many claims over the years that were proven to be little more than spin doctoring something unpleasant.

They’ve also used AP grinds for two expansions in a row. They obviously see it as a good mechanism. They’re not going to retire something that keeps the players busy just like that. Anything that keeps the players busy without them having to WORK and put out new content is a good thing to the current generation of Blizzard Devs.

I don’t hate world quests the way some people seem to, but I do wonder how they’re going to work in SL. Any given character isn’t going to care about 3 of the 4 major expansion factions, right? So there’s 1-2 emissaries a week you actually bother to do, assuming some kind of neutral Oribos/Arbiter faction?

At the same time it’s hard to imagine them completely ditching them…

I rather the World Quest than the Daily system. Dailies were limited to a certain amount per day, World Quest aren’t.

Only that there isn’t enough variety. I’d like to see world quests EVERYWHERE. You know, like in the WORLD.

Personally I think every time they launch an expansion they need to give SOME attention to the entire world. Give us SOMETHING that’s related to the current expansion.

They tried it in BfA and it didn’t go over well. Here’s hoping they learn from their mistakes and give it a better go the next time.

Not bored.

And you are not a “we”, so stop trying to drag others into your personal misery.

World quests are just the “new” daily. Some of them are unique, the rest of them are reused content from questing lines. Some WQs make sense to reuse, some don’t.

Do I like WQs? I like them about as much as typical dailies.

you mean actually going back to azeroth and visiting some of the old zones? If so, I am 100% behind you!

They tried to do it with Arathi and Darkshore, but they kinda sold us something false there. They made it sound like it was going to be something like playing Warcraft, but that’s not what we got.

I hope they try again, but do it WAY better than that.

World quests are better than the big fat nothing we had in Warlords.

Well Ion is still the lead dev so I’m already bored of it.

I like world quests way better than dailies. Like way, way, way, way better. Fact is they are going to make us farm rep and such and I much prefer world quests over dailies by a gigantic margin. So no I don’t want them to go away as long as we have to farm rep. I’d rather see them improved and made more interesting. I never want to go back to dailies where I have to go to a quest giver that tells me to do the same thing every day. I hated dailies. Probably why I don’t like Najzatar very much. They put dailies in there. I despise them.

If I can chuck the Tortollans into some large, soul-consuming machine, you better believe I’ll enjoy every second of that World Quest.

Shadowlands isn’t out yet and I’ll already say I’m bored of Shadowlands world quests!

They’re just so boring and repetitive. I do find them more tolerable with flying (for example, I’ve now been doing Voldunai WQs every day in preparation for Vulpera and I find flying makes them far more bearable) but once SL comes out we’ll be grounded for 10+ months so WQs will go back to maximum tediousness.

Look kid I know you just started playing WoW but trust me having to pick up dailies is far worse.

World Quests are still the best solution. Devs can make WQs appear anywhere
This eliminates the staleness of dailies plus it removes the necessity of picking up quests at a daily quest hub.

They’ve said that Shadowlands will essentially have “world quests 2.0”, it remains to be seen what they mean by that.

But I’m not sure what you expected out of world quests. Even back when they were called daily quests, they weren’t much better than “go kill 10 boars” or “go collect 10 plants”.

The anima power grind sounds like it will be more like the VP grind in MoP. You grind up x amount of anima in a week and then you’re done until next week.

Silly it’s gonna be wod 2.0.

Just like bfa wasop 2.0 with half baked legion mechanics.

People should be very skrptical.
