Shadowlands covenant collecting should not still be as atrocious as it is

I fully understand and agree with having to farm and earn your cosmetics and not have them handed to you. Shadowlands, however, is an absolutely egregious amount of farming and grinding even 2.5 years after it ended. Anima is so scarce, and everything costs and absurd amount. Full clearing every boss from all 3 raids results in BARELY enough anima for 1 of the cheapest pieces possible. That is just insanity. I won’t even get started on grateful offerings because that’s an entirely different situation.

Either anima costs/grateful offering costs should be severely nerfed or there should be substantial increases to anima sources. Literally just a multiplier to how much anima you get from each turn in item would fix it. instead of 35 you get 350. Instead of 250 you get 2500 etc.

I could be wrong, but Im pretty sure that’s one of the least efficient ways to farm anima.

Its better to do all the WQs that reward anima and the weekly quests in all of the zones. Especially Zereth Morits

Agreed, I’d love to go back and collect all the stuff but its just so much and the time investment is pretty large when there is new content to focus on as well. I just got the few items I really liked from Ardenwald and Bastion and called it good.

ZM anima farming got a lot more annoying when they opened up skyriding there.

If you’re not on top of a rare when it spawns, good luck tagging it.

This is literally the point, the time investment is designed to be large.

There is only 3 things to do in end game WoW:

  1. PvE (mythic and raid)
  2. PvP
  3. Collect

I believe more than 50% of the entire player base only does “collecting” now and so blizzard has to make sure its as tedious as possible to keep you subbed.

…hence why the OP made the thread asking for change? And why I agreed with him? It’s too large of an expectation for old content.

Is there an easy way to get “grateful offerings” to me they seem more tedious then anima farming. Either way it all should be nerfed.

Anima farm is hilarious bad

They cranked up grateful offers but we still get a pittance of anima

Just do dailies. The weekly “fill the bar” quests give a good chunk too.

Grateful offerings are nowhere near as bad now that they’re warband transferable. The sheer mind-numbing amount of anima needed is the real roadblock.

I gathered all my anima caches on one character this morning. 35k anima in total. Still have some 16k scattered across characters I haven’t been bothered to gather.

Went to Sinfall, bought a bunch of stuff I didn’t have.

Moused over my remaining anima to see how much more I need to gather, according to All The Things:

800,000 anima :eyes:

My point was less “farming the raid” and more “anima from full clearing the raids should not be this little” going into my larger point of literally every source of anima should just get a substantial multiplier increase.

Well, you don’t need everything……

I too am working on collecting more from Shadowlands, I’ve bought everything from 1/4 Covenants so far.

But the truth is it’s just going to be a long term project to work on over time, not my sole focus.

Just wait for SL remix.

MoP remix was too popular for them not to go through each and every expansion.

It’s faster now than it ever was, you can one-shot everything and solo world bosses and raid bosses in seconds.

Took me twice as long when SL was current, you have nothing to complain about.

So is Anima, FYI.

Warband transferable? I know. It was in SL too.

That doesn’t change the fact that you need like 1.5 million to get everything and world quests award like 230 if you’re lucky lol

Out of a sort of horrified curiosity I had to check mine too.

Any SL farming is so incredibly terrible. That’s the design of the ENTIRE expansion’s fault. Every single activity in SL was designed to take up as much time as possible. It was an experiment to see how tedious the devs could make the game before players quit. They found out with the mass exodus in SL because the majority of people hated the expansion.

I wish they’d go back and fix it to where it wasn’t such tedious slog.

This is improved now, by tenfold. They even made changes such as daily Ember Court instead of weekly. You people just cry if anything requires any semblance of effort to achieve.

Tedium =/= effort.
