I tend to agree with the sentiments Odin is espousing here. We’ll know for sure if we’re being jerked around again once the actual product finally releases. Until then, the best thing to do is to offer ideas and suggestions on how to improve Shadow.
Admittedly however a blue post would go far to let players know they are on the radar. We went the entire WoD Alpha dnd Beta cycle megathread that Annesh wrote without a single blue reply.
Voidform is not being removed. It’s mid-way through Alpha and there’s been literally nothing in the way of class changes that would even remotely hint that Voidform was being replaced.
Also, their feedback is just as valid as your feedback. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s worthless.
They are willing to go back to pre legion for shamans but not priests. Shamans are also getting more attention than priests so far in alpha. Let that sink in.
I’m happy for the shaman players that are getting the class changes they want but wow. No other class on the forums has been as passionate and consistent as the priests have. And yet we’re the ones to get ignored every time.
Fire mages instantly got Phoenix Flames baseline when the devs discovered their playstyle without gear in Shadowlands will suck. Paladins are getting to keep glimmer. Even unholy DKs can go magus of the dead if they like. Assuming priests keep voidform, will we get 2 changes of mindblast baseline? Probably not…
oh and by the way shamans are getting a charge/orbs/holy power/chi/combo points system and everyone is happy but god forbid priest asks for orbs back then we are “homogenizing the game” and we are ruining it.
here’s another idea i just came up with writing this give us orbs and call them insanity orbs there we are void crazy priests yall can keep the theme…happy?
the thing is that they didn’t change or address any of the issues brought all the way from BFA alpha so its not like the issues brought up in the feedback are new and might of caught them off guard.
I would expect a sightly more informative short post. like specify more what they are working on and the direction they are pursuing.
The blatant disdain they show for priests is what really gets me. They are capable of listening to feedback and adjusting based on that. How do I know? Take a look at the druid and mage forums.
I don’t think it’s necessary they hate priests. It’s more because they decided to downgrade to one classes dev team that can’t make it through balancing all the classes so they work on a couple each expan to give the illusion that they are balancing all classes.
there is only one class dev team and they only worked on druids and shamans with soft ignite rework for mages and a soft rework for Affliction warlocks( both mage and warlock soft reworks came late into the alpha, like last week) other classes had nothing changed other than maybe numbers for Shadowlands.
What were they doing in the 2 years development to shadowlands in regards of class balance I have no idea.
that’s not true not at all, what they said (Morgan Day in the Preach interview) was:
“I have nothing for shadow priests soontm”
no mention of reading or addressing the feedback given. Let’s look up the meaning of “soontm” shall we
Soontm:
Describes something that we are told is coming soon (game updates, TV shows, etc.) but we have heard it enough times to know better. Whoever is saying x event will occur soon is considered to own the trademark on the word because they have used it so many times.
I have already asked you once and I’m gonna have to ask you again please
stop talking out of your a s s. for someone who’s always going at people with “this not an argument” and “you are not contributing to the conversation” you are quite frankly full of sh*t. its the truth. You can’t contribute to the conversation when your statements are lies.
It takes literally 2 seconds of typing to say “We are aware of shadow’s issues and are working on some fixes. We expect to roll some out over the coming weeks”
And thats not an answer thats acceptable. I have no idea why you are defending them so much. Either they have fixes and which they should say something. Or they dont and they should say something. Keeping your customers who are invested in the dark is unacceptable.
You really dont see the issue with this do you? You are that blind to the problem with the lack of communication for universally agreed upon worst spec in the game that is going on almost 4 years of neglect?
Nope, I don’t, because there is no issue. They’re aware of Shadow Priest issues, and they have nothing to say for the moment. That’s nothing out of the ordinary.
I’m sorry you think you want or deserve a timeframe for this kind of stuff, but that’s not how it works. Most development work doesn’t get a hard timeframe until its near the end.
to be more specific its not an acceptable respond to us because it does not address what are they working on.
they can be talking about more borrowed powers for all we know. there is a difference between saying there are changes coming and actually specifying what the changes going to address. For god sake its alpha of course there are changes coming to all classes.
Will it address the core problems though with the spec or are they just gonna be more borrowed powers and number tuning?
