Shadowlands: Castle Nathria and Season 1 Goes Live December 8

NoOoOOooo you guys don’t get it! My ranking on some obscure third party website won’t be the same if I choose the sane and reasonable step of spending the holidays with my family over raiding!! How you could slap me in the face like this BLIZZARD!

These are the guys who make the cards. There is no try.

FTFY

Most of us don’t want to ever deal with our boomer families for a reason, blood means nothing

Who honestly cares, unless you’re pushing for world first , what’s the big deal? Stop trying to find reasons to cry

Sure there is a try. People forget Blizzard never promised to stay away from holiday releases. And they have many many other things to consider so yes, it is not in the cards this time around.

Community needs to stop being so entitled.

Stop calling MMO raid tiers “seasons”. It’s stupid and doesn’t belong in a MMO, keep “seasons” for ARPGs.

Spit my drink out

“having a to choose 1 of 3 of the most powerful items in the game is nothing”

Ralph never disappoints. Apparently it was something

Most of the people that’s complaining won’t even be geared enough for mythic until after Christmas anyway

December 8 is also the same day FF14 is expected to release their patch 5.4 which is their new raid tier. If I play WoW with playing FF14 having to raid that much in both games is going to suck. I usually do 5-6 days of raiding on FF14 till the raid is cleared and maybe 2-3 days on WoW.

If you play both of these games its like proging 2 raids at the same time.

Logistically Fans hope the Devs and Raiders would get vacation rather than work on Holidays.

Needless to say the Vacation isn’t going to be a long one for Thanksgiving(3 Days after release) so any grand stay in the Tropics is being put on hold till juuust before Christmas Week.

Wow so many mad people. This won’t affect 99% of the mad people honestly, the guilds involved in the world first race will make time while the ones that aren’t (but like to think they are part of that elite group) won’t be geared enough to make a dent yet. The only thing that will be affected is their raider.io guild rank will be 6,451 instead of 5,245 because of the 2 weeks they couldn’t raid. No biggie. Don’t worry you’ll still be ahead of most of the other plebs in the 10,000s. After New Year people will wonder what the fuss was about.

Hey now hes the hero we need but don’t deserve.

personally, I am for the raid coming in Jan. A extra few weeks of gearing and enjoying the holidays is worth it to me.

The narrative stopped being a convenient way to get brownie points.

He’s one of the only trolls left that gets bites so I’ll commend him on that.

I have Ahead of the Curve Azshara from 22-Aug-2019, but that’s a heroic achievement. The majority of the discussion seems to be how this impacts mythic raiders, so the appropriate achievement is Cutting Edge, rather than Ahead of the Curve. That same link you provided shows:
Cutting Edge: Argus the Unmaker - 5.2%
Cutting Edge: G’huun - 5.1%
Cutting Edge: Lady Jaina Proudmoore - 6%
Cutting Edge: Queen Azshara - 3.7%

N’zoth isn’t listed on that site so I added Argus (last from previous raid)… that averages to 5% of the populace. I don’t doubt that this sucks for that 5%, but it’s not 40% of the player base. If the raid/guild leader doesn’t tell the whole raid team to go home over Christmas break, then hopefully you really are in the top 1% contending for world-first. Everyone else, should get a break.

If you read what I replied to, the poster said " Blizzard said that less than 10% actually raid other than LFR" which is untrue. That’s why I quoted the AOTC figure as an example.

I think this is true. While I do believe that Mythic raiders comprise a relatively small percentage if the overall population, I would be very surprised if that percentage was as low as 1% for serious Mythic raiders.
There are also folks who are in guilds that aren’t as hardcore about requiring week to week participation (Like the guild that I was in before) that will allow appropriately geared individuals who have knowledge of the fights to join occasionally. I was involved in running Mythic Ny’alotha in this fashion on a few occasions.
I think it is great that there are people that take it seriously and go after the big raid achievements. That isn’t my cup of tea, but this is a game that allows both casual and serious players to get what they want from it. I see this as nothing but positive. Your opinion may vary.
