Shadowlands: Castle Nathria and Season 1 Goes Live December 8

You all would complain if they hung you with a new rope. If they do not release soon everyone will complain when is it coming no new content boo hoo hoo. If they do release it in a reasonable amount of time after the first date then you all complain for ruining holidays the only people who will have or want to actually worry about raiding mythic as fast as its out is a very small percentage of world first raiding guilds. Those people would raid even if it meant missing any other holiday so who cares. Open your gifts, spend time with loved ones then get on an play the game, if this game is all you do in life then you shouldn’t complain as this is what you would be doing on any date of release.

“All I do is farm transmog and do pet battles every third Saturday, I don’t understand why everyone is so upset at this news!!”

GD never fails to entertain.

First kill Dec. 27th with 8675309 stacks.

My question is: How many are known, but not reported, from the practice test servers to be exploited that first week?

What boss does that drop from?

If she loved you she would bring dinner down to you so you could raid.

Its not a big deal the raid will still be there after your holiday plans. In fact you will be doing it more since they lowered the amount of items that drop.

The entitled elitist Karens are here

Sorry, the world doesn’t care about your epeen contests

Seems an odd choice with Christmas, not a huge issue personally but seems like it could benefit on being postponed by a couple of week.

Seems like a win-win with players getting more time to gear up characters and get a feel for what they want to play through the holiday period before people start getting serious. But I guess they want to capture holiday play times?

Vanilla WoW was released 2 days before Thanksgiving…get over yourselves. Those that aren’t hardcore mythic raiders will enjoy the extra few hours to enjoy the game during the holidays because on ANY day we don’t prioritize a video game over our families

This baffles me. I can see if someone despises their family or doesn’t get along well with them, but choosing a video game > family is quite sickening, especially if you come from a loving home.

It’s just a video game!!!

Say it with me… V-I-D-E-O G-A-M-E…

Spend time with your friends, family, or even ur freaking pets!

God you people make me sick and hate to be part of the human race.

Because the majority does not, why would they want to spend time with brainwashed boomers or genxers who have nothing in common with the newer generations and instead try to start pointless dumb arguments nobody cares to deal with and prefer to play on their phones

Those old family gatherings were things many of us as kids wanted to avoid and as adults we can absolutely avoid and never have to deal with that boredom ever again.

Your family gatherings and mine are entirely different mr Ralph.

uh, you do realize that all of the serious contenders for world first mythic raid clears actually play wow as a job right? there’s a veritable crapton of sponsorship, streaming and other monies on the line for those guilds…

not that i have, you know, a massive outpouring of sympathy for them. they get to play games for a living.

Yeah I’m gonna be mythic raiding come SL, and this sucks for us, but Blizzard cant delay the season launch for more than a month and a half after release. They also can’t push the raid release until after the holidays, because WoW operated on a three parallel progression track, and Arena, PuG play, and M+ are 100% unaffected by the dates provided.

If M+ and Arena are released before the raid, we’ll have another Emerald Nightmare situation where everyone’s overgeared as balls before the raid even starts. M+ and Arena can’t be delayed until after Christmas, considering the release date of the expansion. Shadowlands Season 1 has to have a unified start, of we’ll see people powergrinding M+ as a pre-requisite for Castle Nathria, which is not a situation I want to find myself in.

Guild Raiding is the only form of content affected by the dates, and frankly I don’t believe that matters nearly as much as the PuG scene, M+, and Arena combined, which would all suffer pretty hard with a hypothetical 1.5 month delay after launch.

Extremely doubtful, now that both arenas and m+ has been destroyed gear wise because Ion wants to turn this game into raid or die that cannot happen.

The only mythic Ilvl you will ever get from these activities is just a singular piece every week and you better hope your 3 choice lottery doesn’t have 3 trash options.

And without titanforging the game has literally become raid or die

I cannot possibly disagree more. The weekly cache is MASSIVELY buffed, and offers incredible consistency.

M+ and PvP would be farmed for full almost-heroic gear as a mandatory raid requirement for even semi-hardcore mythic guilds. There’s 4 weekly caches between December 8th and January 4th. Players will be expected to fill out 6 of the slots in the cache, through M+ and Arena, and would enter the raid with 4 pieces of mythic level gear.

Likely, the demand for hardcore guilds, with a staggered release, would be multiple alts for RNG protection, so that all players in the raid enter with max ilvl trinkets and weapons, which is very very possible.

If M+ and Arena opned on Dec 8th, players get 4 mythic items before the raid, each one selected from a pool of 6 options. Getting access to those 6 options per box is now the requirement with a staggered release.

1 mythic ilvl piece a week that is a lottery of 3 choices is nothing when it comes to raiding, especially when raiding also gets to access the weekly chest bg just raiding

Why do you say 3, when there’s very obviously room for 6 choices per box? Arena still exists you know.

With the PvP vendor returning, that’s reliable gear if there’s no mythic raiding active. PvP also contributes to the weekly vault, which pulls from Raid, M+, and PvP completion, 3 items each.

M+ excusive players end up BiS WAYYYY faster in SL than they did in BfA because of the Cache choice. odds are I won’t be waiting 5 months for a weapon drop like I did in 8.3.

Because only am irrelevant tiny minority would ever get 2.4K just to have 6 options after doing 9 m14s

Well it looks like decisions will have to be made. Not much else to be done. Don’t see them delaying it for 1%ers.

Yes, but we’re talking about mythic raiding, not heroic or casual play. 2.4k isn’t out of line for somebody who’s looking to kill bosses. that’s what, 16s across the board? Maybe 15s across with a couple 20s?

Outside of Mythic, the dates are just irelevant.
