Shadowlands book coming july 14

yea, because blizzard considers 0 seconds of spotlight adequate for the Night Elves when it comes to rebuilding the race up instead of tearing it down. I was hoping that they will atleast do something in a book but nope…

Well okay but if the Zandalari leave the Horde, the Alliance, Kul’Tirans, whoever can go conquer them and the Horde will continue on being the Horde as they’ve done since November 23, 2004.

:man_shrugging:

He got a lot of attention in Nazjatar and just started a romance with Thalyssra. I figured of all the Horde leaders he’d be most likely to get novel focus since he’s an easily marketed elf protag.

Aside from orcs the more beastly races like tauren and trolls don’t tend to be made main perspective characters often.

He was also basically the main character in MoP, during the six month+ period Vol’jin was in hiding like a lil wee bab.

Well Bwonsamdi is the Loa of the Zandalari now. As long as the Zandalari are allied with the Horde then he’s their friend. I wonder if Blizzard is gonna allow Bwonsamdi kill an ancient.

I thought it was more like a tit for tat relationship. The Horde needs the Zanda navy. The Zandas need Horde mercenaries.

They had been setting him up as Talanji’s nemesis who needed to be killed to undo the evil her evil father beset her with, until now at least.

Their navy was destroyed. That’s why Talanji told Sylvanas the Horde needs the Zandalari less than they need the Horde.

I thought the Vol’jin novel was one of the best, and from what I recall, Baine has always had a much larger role in the novels than any blood elf character. It seems like a a bit of an exaggeration to say there’s any favoritism there. Even Before the Storm barely had Sylvanas’ point of view in it.

That’s rude. I refuse to be compared to that useless fool.

Not going to happend since the Alliance barely has forces to assault Zandalar even at their peak, right now? Less likely

Besides you forgot an important point that not everyone has to hold hands and nod at the whims of other leaders which is something the Alliance would do to learn as well

I wonder how long the main characters of the game will lack forces for?

post proof cause they barely have a navy

I think it’ll be very interesting to hear Talanji’s thoughts on the Hore expounded in a full book/narrative format. (I’d love to see all of it in-game, too, but it seems Blizzard disagrees, so at least this way it’ll be mentioned.)

  • The Horde needed a navy.
  • The Zandalari thought they were doing fine on their own, primarily needing the Horde to help with the blood troll prroblem.
  • The Horde defeats the blood trolls and helps with a lot of other problems they uncovered in the meantime.
  • The Zandalari join the Horde in their war against the Alliance. (Attacking Kul Tiras during the Alliance war campaign in a way that oh-so-conveniently makes them attack the Kul Tiran homeland before the Alliance goes to attack the Zandalari homeland.)
  • The Alliance wipe out (most of? some of?) the Zandalari fleet.

So, now, the Horde has done a lot to help the Zandalari, but the act of accepting and aiding the Horde led to the Zandalari no longer having the bargaining chip the Horde wanted in the first place, and that same loss means the Zandalari lost a lot of their capabilities which let them stand as an independent nation. So they’re kinda stuck with the Horde, and the Horde’s kinda stuck with them, but there is plenty of reasons for both sides to resent the other. It’ll be fun to see if this book really explores that relationship.

Man, sorry but the worst stuff related to BfA (A.K.A Calia, Blanduin and the gross retconning of more than an a decade old Forsaken lore) was written by her on her book. And also the cringe-worthy bipolar disorder esque cycle regarding Jaina is usually made obvious on her novels (woman literally refused to portray Jaina as anything different from a perfect Disney princess who is a poor wittle victim).

Also tweeting that she loves Anduin cause she hopes it inspire her children doesn’t help to her cause either. Frankly, she’s as gross as Danuser in regards to putting her self inserts (and the supporting plot devices engineered to cheer upon the favs A.K.A. Baine) EVERYWHERE!!!

Who said King Rhastakhan was evil? He was a desperate king spurred into action by sudden events he failed to nip in the bud.

Ye, I can see why.

Woah. I never thought about that before, but Zappyboi is the Horde PC. A nobody who interacts with great heroes. He even one shots Genn.

He was an evil man beleaguering his strong daughter with his sins, selling her to a dark god for power. That’s the set up. I’m glad that they appear to be pulling back from that, though.

Errr no, Treng. How about we read into the whole Rastakhan stuff as it actually happened?

They did the same thing with Magni and Moira, only it’s worse with Rastakhan and Talanji. Rastakhan delivered his entire bloodline to Bwonsamdi for power. Talanji resents Bwonsamdi. She did not make this choice, a Man forced that choice on her.

The writing was crystal clear.

It’s time, . We have the Abyssal Scepter, along with confirmation that the bombs placed amongst the Zandalari fleet are still active. Unfortunately, even with everything at our disposal, we would still lose a frontal assault against the Zandalari empire. For that reason, we plan to lure the forces of the Horde and the Zandalari away from the harbor. Mathias Shaw is holding a meeting nearby, and he has requested your presence.

The alliance literally establish foothold in Zandalar as part of their early war campaing while the Zandalaris doesn’t support the horde at that moment and only allows them to stay because they saved Talanji the Princess of Zandalar.

In fact the whole point of their campaign is to sabotage and destroy the fleet, raid the city and “capture” their king to scare them away(which didn’t worked)

And why pray tell, did he need that power? Better yet, was he happy and hopeful about making the deal in the first place? Cause sorry but it may have happened months ago, but I clearly remember Rastakhan’s anguish and wariness regarding good ol’ Bwonsamdi. I remwmber him asking for forgiveness with his very dying breath.

No Treng, if anything this is no effort to “clean” Bwonsamdi’s pretty much evident controversial alignment, but an effort to endear Talanji towards a playerbase that mostly preferred her father’s portrayal over hers, no more and no less.

I call it the 2019 wtf writting effect in America… Happened in BtS, happened in GoT, happened in TROS and so on and so fort. Trash a fav character in a desperate effort to make a bland self insert more appealing (with disastrous consequences btw).
