Shadowlands better be Game of the Century

You’re kidding, right? There’s so many things to do in legion. Mage Tower was my favorite. I really don’t understand why they removed it. It’s such a shame.

is not set in stone.

Yeah but you take all those things out of context. You quoted me from something that was completely unrelated to the things I’ve told you.

Is that your argument? Really? Wow that’s some reaching you’re doing. Again, I’m actually operating on things we know. I’ve told you to go to the Deep Dive panel which you obviously have not watched, to actually understand what these features are similar to.

Anything can go wrong, and we’ll judge it when it happens.

i can agree with that. lately blizz has had great intentions with bad follow through/ so i’m thinking the worst, while hoping for the best.

Ya’ boy out here trying to earn MVP.

shadowlands is an expansion not a game so it cant be game of the century

What do you mean?

OP remember that Shadowlands is being released the same year (and most likely around the same time now) as Cyberpunk 2077 (featuring Keanu Reeves).

I am looking forward to that game so much. First time in literal years I preordered a console game.

Here is what I am hoping Shadowlands delivers on.

  1. Class overhaul (I know they are giving some classes a skill or two back but we are going to need more then that to fix them over the expansions life imo. Not going to stick around if classes don’t become fun to play again.)
  2. Race customization (I love the little bit they showed at Blizzcon. The new forsaken art makes me want to play them more which is great. Love the troll looks and possibly the ability to make them look like other tribes. I don’t play Alliance but I would be so excited for the wildhammer look the dwarves are getting if I did.)
  3. Transmogs (The covenant mogs look good but they didn’t give us enough info on them. I am hoping they offer more unique back mogs other then cloaks/capes. Wings, tombstones, tentacles, bat wings, etc… We need more diverse back looks.)
  4. Story/Lore (Hoping each new covenant gets a story and any heroes that have died and are represented, here’s looking at you Vol’jin and Kael’thas. 99% sure this won’t happen but would love to see San’layn worked into the Venthyr zone/story especially since anime has come up again in 8.3.)
  5. The Maw (Hope this has a really great idea coming with it. I think it has a lot of promise but since they haven’t said much it is up in the air right now. Could be a zone that progressively gets harder the deeper you go. Maybe even allow us to continue to upgrade our cloak instead of chucking it. Would make sense to take it into the realm of death, at least to me. Only allow us to gather coalescing visions or whatever we’ll need from everything in the Maw and not just certain things. Who knows what exactly they will do with it but I am hoping for something cool.)
  6. Reduce GCD (This most likely will never be reduced but I still think the GCD is too long by 1/4 to 1/2 a second. Some players like it but I personally have to look at my skills far more then I should because my GCD is taking longer then I expect.)
  7. Core races and/or AR’s (I would prefer core races to AR’s but I know that AR’s take less resources then the core races do. I’d like to see as many new playable races as possible. Been waiting on ogres since TBC but got BE’s instead of ogres. Would love to have a half-orc half-ogre option also. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: )
  8. Make professions useful (I use to make my own gear as I leveled but now I am not even sure what use gear professions have now. Would love for Inscription to get some love. Use to be such a fun profession till glyphs got the shaft.)

Given how WCIIIR turned out, it’s only a matter of time before they break that cycle

Don’t care how good or bad shadowlands will be if there is no tier gear ill probably will skip it all together.

All the reasons why I’m worried about Shadowlands. Covenants have the potential to be either really fun or a total disaster. Looking at BfA doesn’t give me much hope that it will be the former.

its why the hybrids like druid/shaman/monk will only have boring stat amp effects and nothing interesting like the other classes.

and yes, shadowlands will need to be the game of the year to win back the players, and thats up against cyberpunk, FF7 etcs this year. so it has a lot of work cut out for it. BFA, " dont you guys have phones ",the whole blitzchung thing, W3R etcs have all been death kneels for the company.

if blizz do 1 more thing stupid anytime in the next 2 months ( hell, the next year ), nothing will save this trashfire company from landing the coup de grâce on itself. blizzard used to be the gold standard for video game developers. now its just a meme that has burned its playerbase too many times. it used to be about making incredible games, now its just trying to suckle on chinas teet and suck up as much money as humanly possible.

nobody has faith in blizzard anymore.

Not really up against either of those actually.
When you wanna look at comp for an MMO, you look at other MMOs, trying to compare it to something in a different genre doesn’t get the same result.

People will definitely play those games, but they’re finite, those games have a hard end and people will be right back to WoW. It’s one of the reasons MMOs have been around so long, they never have an actual end to their content (assuming the doors stay open).

TemTem is an abomination.

TemTem looks nice, but it’s selling point for me is the music and tag battles.

thats not really the case with cyberpunk. considering its replay value. and the sheer size of its story and how many different options there are in that game. and then the different classes you can custom build in so many different ways. cyberpunk is going to be a game that gets replayed over and over again.

Sorry, I don’t mean to single you out, but I do see a lot of ‘dumpster fire’ references and I don’t think you folks know what it means.

I know most think it’s a clever way to mention both trash and fire, trying to conjure up imagery of a foul smelling disaster. Really it means a controlled blaze in a steel container.
When burning, a dumpster will smell like fire, it has a significantly higher chance to be offensive if left in the afternoon sun never touched by flame.

So yeah, sorry it was your use of dumpster fire that prompted my response…but I saw the phrase and immediately thought, “oh good, that won’t spread and will be easy to extinguish.” :joy:
