Warlock:
Give interrupt baseline, give Felhunter a purge instead.
Destruction:
Shadowburn baseline execute, replace talent with Dimensional Rift.
Revert BFA GoSup to Legion GoSup. Then buff our damage accordingly.
Corruption gives soulshard fragments on ticks.
Demonology:
Summoning Tyrant gives you 5 shards.
Drop Doom and make Corruption instant cast that has a chance to spawn a 1-3 Imps on tick.
All I really want to see is Mortal Coil, Howl of Terror, and Fel Flame back baseline as well as with the level 40 talent row being reworked to empower our curses similar to what theyâve done with Tongue Tied.
Iâm so glad theyâre changing UA back to what it used to be.
For demo I really wanna drop soul conduit and get the ability to control two demons at once, change GoSup to allow us to control a more powerful demon.
For destruction, fire and brimstone baseline
Updated the original post with the new version of Soul Rot (Night Fae Covenant Ability).
Before it didnât cast Drain Life, nor did it consume 20% (TWENTY PERCENT) of your health when cast.
Also update: Unending Resolve has a Rank 2 you learn at level 39 that gives the 40% damage reduction with silence/interrupt protection that was not present in the original datamine. As such this has been fixed in the original post
update three: though the datamine shows a 20% health cost, the official blizzard notes do not show this, so weâll have to Wait And See⢠what the Alpha Testing folks say
Sadly the ones who were selected for the alpha are not very active on the forums so it may be a while.
On a completely unrelated note the MDI started, who wants to predict the future with me and say that warlocks will not be in the MDI unless its just a meme/joke. The last one and the one before was nothing but druids, rouges, warriors, monks and maybe one other odd class. Every time the big you tubers or influencers do interviews with the devs why donât they bring this up and address the fact that locks are never represented and dont have an interrupt?
I would trade everything that we suggested for a god dam interrupt that was not reliant on the fel hunter.
Hardly any of them play Warlocks, and hardly anyone plays Warlocks period this expansion. Think about how happy / excited people often are to see a Warlock in a dungeon or raid, if you pug or have pugs join your guild raids. I often hear/read âWOAH! Thereâs a Warlock here guys!â They just donât see that many so often, I guess.
As for MDI, yeah, you most likely wonât see a Warlock because we just arenât equipped for it this expansion. In Legion, you seen Aff all over the place cause it was OP, but with how they are now nah. I think for the cup today Iâve seen more DKs, Warriors and Monks more than anything else, but thatâs the MDI for ya. Speed and power above all else.
As for Alpha, yeah the feedback there for Affliction is seriously lacking. Idk how it is for Demo/Destro, I play only Affliction, even if it ends up being the worst spec in the entire game, I still love it. Iâm hoping someone with an Alpha key can go read my post at #199 and put that in the Alpha, this way thereâs more concise feedback about Affliction spec, though that post is all over the place but they can totally put those ideas down and get them on the Alpha forum since I do not have a key and cannot post there, myself.
Most of your feedback resonates with what I summarized from various posts into the first post. Is there anything from your feedback thatâs missing from my Affliction Feedback Summary?
Save for the talents. In my summarizing everything I included some talents-related takes but Iâm scared to add too much of that given I dont think theyâll revamp talents meaningfully.
At best I think Blizzard may be open to making a talent baseline and make an Azerite Trait a talent
I think all of the talent choices should be in there, I donât mean like when I took each row. If you donât want to include that, thatâs fine, just my opinion on the rows all in all pitted against each other. You did not say about Afflictionâs azerite trait Sudden Onset, which starts Agony at 4 stacks. That is something that should be baseline for the spec, or be baked into WiA talent at least if not. I also do not see azerite trait Inevitable Demise, but I could have missed that one. This trait should be Afflictionâs burst, then they can just give us a CD like Soul Harvest or reduce DS:M haste+length+CD to make it like Soul Harvest instead. Iâd rather just have Soul Harvest, though.
Just say we would like an execute for our DoTs, be it through talenting or baseline.
Regarding PvP: I do not see any mention of a PvP talent for Affliction to have undispellable DoTs at the cost of reduced damage, just like Unholy Death Knights had in I think it was Legion or some expansion so Affliction gives up DoT damage to have undispellable DoTs by normal means.
Malefic Rapture really doesnât fit in with Afflictionâs philosophy, like, not at all. It should be reworked into an AoE drain, like AoE malefic grasp when we had that so there is some interaction with the kit, plus it is actually thematically fitting. You did say about it, though.
Dark Glare just needs to be removed entirely, not nerfed or buffed, but actually removed from the spec. It can go into Demonology as a cool demon/CD/talent for them, but for Affliction it just needs to go. We also need to mention for PvP that UAâs dispel mechanic needs to be buffed significantly, like to 50%+ of the dispellerâs max hp, this way it makes a difference.
Agree on the Dark Glare removal; a burst demon summon has no place in affliction. It was one of the reasons I dropped affliction in bfa.
More suggestions:
I think we should get more imps with Inner demons or old imp swarm to help with ramp time. Or maybe our imps should keep up with us even out of combat like in Pandaria/Wod. This should help to smooth rotation and with soul shiphon, early implosion, Demonic consumption.
More customization:
I really like our talents in 90 row, but we could get more variations here.
We should get more imps from Inner demons (as said before) or replace them, why not two felbats with us all the time? They are ranged, they donât mess with our vision and are cooler than 2 miresable imps, sadly we only summon them sometimes.
Grimoire: Felguard - Iâm tired of Felguard, we are forced to use him as pet, we have two talents only for him, we summon a lot ot them with nether portal and inner demons and still has him as a CD. Again, I like the talent, like more the old version with all basic pets, but itâs a 1.5 min CD like Demonic Tyrant, it should be replace by a stronger demon, at least by a Fel Lord, but there are soooo many demons, why not diversify a bit?
Iâd love to get more ranged demons, Itâs cool to be surrounded by them and see them attacking, while melee pets stay stacked hitting and we barely can see anything or how many we have summoned xD
Copied from my post on another Thread
HoG, Tyrant, and Dreadstalkers all should be instant.
Demon Armor should be available.
Implosion replaced with Demonic Wrath.
Soul Leech should heal Felguard for 75%.
Soul Strike should be a base ability.
Health Funnel needs to a dot instead of channeled at least for Demonology.
Any or all of these would be easy to implement without major work on Blizzâs part
Please donât make UA only affect one target. One stack, sure. UA not costing a shard is awesome, but limiting it to one target feels bad.
Also, Soul Swap coming back would be awesome.
UA being single target is good. It lets them tune our single target damage without making us bonkers on cleave.
Fair point. It might not be so bad as long as its damage compensates for the target limitations.
The problem is that we already have a spell that does that, Haunt. UA and Huant are almost the same spell right now. UA being on multiple targets would be great with haunt baseline.
When I started playing a warlock - we were designed a class that sacrificed our life for power. We were the class that had spells like âLife Tapâ and âHellfireâ (often to the annoyance of healers). We bound demons to our will. Eventually we showed that when we pushed too far we risked succumbing to their power ourselves.
Through specs, affliction focused on damage over time, destruction was basically a fire mage, and demonology was a bit of a mishmash with a better pet. So it wasnât perfect by any stretch. Iâm at 278 days played, so thereâs been a few different iterations of the class, but I figured I might as well throw out a suggestion.
Not gonna be perfect - but - meh. Itâll never come true because theyâre already putting corruption and curses standard.
Baseline for all Specs:
Banish, Fear, Eye of Kilrogg, Enslave Demon, Soulwell, Ritual of Summoning, Soulstone, Demonic Gateway, Health Funnel, Dark Pact, Unending Breath, Unending Resolve, Drain Soul, Drain Life, Shadowfury, Fel Fire (an instant nuke previously in-game), Shadowflame (an instant cast short frontal cone). Summon demon - Imp, Succubus, Felhunter, Felguard.
Voidwalkers are dumb. Felguards are frontline warriors of the legion - but voidwalkers are from the void, why would they be part of the Twisting Nether?
Potential Baseline Talents: Instant cast Shadowfury (and it should have a 30s CD), Shadowflame leave a DoT or daze, Grimoire of Sacrifice
Demonology: As I envision it, they focus on using demons and fel magic. Most of their rotation should focus on calling in demons and using fel magic to drain the souls required to call in more.
- Soul Rip - resource generating spell to summon demons
- Bilescourge Bombers, Dreadstalker Rush, Demonic Tyrant (but letâs just call it a Pit Lord please)
- Fel Pool - a fel ground effect where everything is damaged destroying the world
- Demonic Circle
- In addition, they can summon a Dreadlord as a minion. Dreadlords are able to taunt, interrupt, and do strong damage. Basically, Felguard replaces Voidwalker and Dreadlord replaces Felguard.
Destruction: Always a bit of an oddity, because it lacked a true distinction from fire mages.
- Immolate, Incinerate, Conflagrate make up a straightforward rotation
- Rain of Fire offers a simple AoE (and could be talented to apply cataclysm)
- Soul Fire (preferable to Chaos Bolt) burns the target from the inside, leaving damage effect on the target
- Burning Rush offers a utility ability for movement (at the cost of health)
- Summon Infernal
Affliction: Conceptually straightforward and constant across time. It has often had too many spells in a convoluted rotation and too little area damage, but the biggest issue is conceptual. The damage scales upward over time, but at peak it usually runs close to the other specs making it less valuable.
- (Curse of) Agony, Corruption, Haunt (only single target), Shadow Bolt
- Seed of Corruption (but just make it detonate instantly - ideally Iâd envision it working similar to Gulâdans version in HotS but whatever)
- Death Coil (sorry I mean Mortal Coil, whatever).
- Summon Darkglare (it should be an inquisitor, but whatever)
Just my ideas. Curse of Tongues/Weakness/Recklessness/whatever else might be useful in rare circumstances - and in some PVP too - but they really donât mean much.
I mean warlocks have always used shadow, and nowadays all Shadow is rooted in Void, so Void is fair game :V
I like some of this but:
Darkglare just needs to be away from Aff. Aff is centered around DoTs and drains, nothing more or less, much less other demons like this.
Shadowbolt needs to stay out of Afflictionâs toolkit, as it does not do DoT damage, nor is it a drain so again, gone. We will happily take Drain Soul/Drain Life filler instead.
Seed of Corruption damage is not the problem, and if it is it can be tuned around. What is the problem with this is most people hate its 2-3 second long cast time, so all that needs to be done here is reduce the cast time to 1.5 seconds base, reduced by 0.1 second per 10% haste you have, down to 1 second cast time.
Affliction is just a DoT management spec, so to the Shadow Lands theme, Rapture absolutely does not fit this case. It depends on DoTs for its damage, which is nice, but, the damage is instant so it has no place in the philosophy of Aff. Now, if it were a DoT that you place on the target that does damage based on the number of DoTs, or if it were a channel that you could cast like Drain Soul, that is a different story since it is doing DoT damage either way.
They could do a number of different things for Rapture:
Channeled ability that is a continuous one like Drain Soul, and explodes on each target, 1 Soul Shard every 1 second, up to 5 seconds.
They could make it an actual DoT that we could throw on the target, can be either like UA where it is a 1 DoT on 1 target thing, or we can have 1 at a time and it just deals DoT damage over 8 seconds, hitting the target for each number of DoTs on that target.
They could put it as a CD instead of a Shard Spender and it ends up being like Phantom Singularly, lasting a while and continuously shuffling AoE damage to all targets based on the number of DoTs on each target it hits.
What about just making it a buff/debuffer where it buffs current DoTs on the target, just like I think Soul Wrack was going to, or it speeds them up even so they tick X% faster, thus shortening their duration and giving a potential burst that goes over the course of 3-6 seconds instead of instantly?
Iâm sure there are other ways too, but either way likeâŚit should not be an instant straight up damage dealing spell. That does not fit Afflictionâs DoT theme. Even SoC lasts 15 seconds and is considered like a DoT, so doing 0 damage over 15 seconds the seeds automatically detonate then.
They could just get rid of it, period, and buff SoC/reduce its cast time and have that be our AoE since it also fits in with the theme. I mean, thereâs a number of things that could be done here that actually fit Aff much better than what it is right now.
The Fel guard should have become our baseline melee pet over the years for all specalizations after demonology got its revamps, or at the very least after the pet system got overhaul for warlocks. We are due for one, I just hope that the dev responsible for those pokemon trainer hunters being able to tame nearly every beast and some raid bosses sees this and puts forth the idea that they should do something with our pets.
Also hunters got a lot of love over the years, they even got their artifact weapon pet back for bfa yet we never got Thalâkiel back.
Imagine being able to enslave 1 demon out of the plethora of demons in this game to use as our favorite pet to fill a certain role only. We would still need to use our current pets like a void walker as a tank unless we enslaved another demon for that role we would still use the fel hunter for interrupts or the imp for raiding. That would be a cool concept
demo;
- make summon abilities instant cast at all times
- interrupt baseline
- give better demons
for this point I mean let Demo summon Fel Lords, Pit Lords, Abyssals, Nathrezims, Overfiends, Doom Lords, Imp Mothers, Urâzuls, Soul Harvesters, Shivarra, Darkglares. Like, thereâs many demons to pick from that are all 1000% better and cooler than just imps, dreadstalkers and the base demons. Youâre a commander, act like it.
A commander of demons who twists the souls of army into devastating power.
^this is the philosophy of Demo, yet you only summon base demons. Wut?
It really is wonky that a commander can only summon the base dudes.
