Shadowform has lost its meaning and should be removed

I rather like shadow form but I’m all for more glyphs for variation.

Shadow Priests don’t even make any sense in the first place.

I hate that the only cosmetic option for shadow form is a glyph that makes you a shadowy ball of purple smoke instead of a shadowy ball of purple smoke.

I want a glyph that actually does something. How about one that turns our bodies shadowy but not our clothes so we can actually do mogging.

one cool glyph idea they could do is bring back orbs/ravens. use the glyph when you go into shadowform you have shadow orbs or ravens floating over you. that way it doesn’t ruin your mog

Really dumb take, but the suggestion above it is fine. A glyph to not just lessen Shadowform but outright hide it would satisfy me.

Shadowform turns Blanchy into a shadowy dark bloodtinged horse from Hades. That alone wins my vote to keep Shadowform for my Spriest.

What’s wrong with a 10% increase to your spells? Why nurf the Shadow Priests?

Remove current shadowform and rename void form to shadowform. Problem solved.

I really liked the old shadowform that would make them really dark and covered the mount too

The argument wasn’t to nerf sPriest by 10%, it was to take the 10% off shadow form and turn it into a passive so that priests who don’t want to look like N’Zoth farts can still do that big dong DPS.

Shadowpriests loved shadowform in vanilla to wrath because it made them stand out and because it hid the hodge podge of horrific looking mix matched sets before transmogrification existed.

Now we have a beautiful array of armor choices from almost 20 years of the game (for some classes at least - poor hunters and demon hunters :frowning: ) and most definitely shadow form is a hinderance. I am one of those who is all about cosmetics before anything else and won’t play shadow ever just because it ruins my mogs that i spent countless hours farming.

So yes, i agree, a glyph to hide it would be great. Removing it all together i disagree with because some few people probably do like it, plus role-playing usability.

Of course you only need Shadowform while your toon is in battle. I turn it off when the fight is over.

I’ve played a S-Priest for 16 years and I agree 100% that we at least need a Glyph to remove the “shadow” effect on the S-priests for those who want to look “normal”. I’ve personally abandoned the shadow spec in favor of playing Holy since I discovered that its actually easier to solo quests as a Holy priest rather than a shadow priest; however, I expect that may change soon.

Sounds to me like Shadow form should be removed in favor of Void Form or something.
More of a temporary buff than a permanent one. Similar to Monk Earth, Wind and Fire.

I’m on the side of removing it completely honestly. More so for the fact that spell animations can be overwhelming at times. Shadow form really cuts into the visibility of your character’s actions.

I’d rather we just get the glyph

An outdated extra annoying step that is not really necessary these days.

I know some pvper will drop in and say “but it is critical for us to be able to visually identify a shadow priest or boomkin”

Well no, that argument falls a bit short. If a mage has no shield up you can’t visually identify if they are fire, arcane, or frost. You can’t tell visually in a split second if a DK is blood or unholy, you can’t tell visually if a rogue is subtley or assassination. You can’t tell visually if a shaman is ele or resto at a quick glance if they don’t have mana shield up.

Yet this pervasive argument is brought up all the time by pvpers that its imperative they identify a boomkin visually so they can scare beast on it etc.

If anything i think its an argument that boomkins and shadows are at an unfair disadvantage compared to many other classes and specs and this argument should have no bearing at all on a cosmetic decision for these specs.

Legion 7.3 looked amazing though like an actual glowing shadow and not just a purple filter.

Please make SF a choice, I like my purple form and wouldn’t want to lose it.

Yeah I guess, I just find it fun to turn on and off.

Oh, please.
A SPriest summoning tentacles and void-beings will not have it’s class fantasy ruined because they’re no longer glowing purple.

In fact. I think it would highlight Void Form. When the Priest is purple, you know they’ve gone off the rails. Opposed to now, there the purple visual effect is essential being diluted. Imagine of DH’s were perma Demon Form. Or if Fire Mages were glowing red 24/7. You wouldn’t be able to identify when they’re doing their thing.
