Shadow Priest Shadowforms

Hello !

Over the past years Shadowform has progressed backwards and whatever it was introduced as with its “updated” look never delivered. I think the attached feature below is something the majority of us shadow priest would appreciate, Customizing Shadowform. (the same applies to other specs, having the choice to pick from different timelines.)

I’m reposting this from the EU for my friend Lyraseth who introduced this idea a couple of months ago and has been reposting it himself in hopes Shadowform would finally get adressed.

Hi there! I’ve made a similar post about this a few months ago, but now that it seems like the Devs might actually read these topics and people’s wishlists about the upcoming 9.1.5 patch, I would like to ask the Devs to give us, Shadow Priests, an option to choose between past and present Shadowforms.

There are currently 6 versions (3 of them are with Glyph of Shadowform). Since Druids can choose to select which Bear, Cat or Travel form they want to use, I think we could also have the same option with Shadowform in Barbershop.

All of these visuals are still in the game files as we can see multiple old & new NPCs such as Void Elf priests in Zuldazar during the assault. I understand that many people like older versions, even the newest one, but I personally like the 7.3 ones and I wish everybody had an option to choose the form they enjoy playing with.

Additionally, I decided to play with Photoshop a little and made a concept of Orbs, Tentacles & Ravens that Shadow Priests could use to show off their Transmog after years of being shadowy purple. In the past, we had both orbs and ravens. We still have tentacles when entering Voidform.

I do so miss the original Shadowform. It was quite delightful. The newer ones were quite distressing to me.

I like the orb options. They look quite good.

Agreed, the latest one with the pulsating smoke effect is such a downgrade from the earlier ones.

Yes, I don’t like the purple smoke of the current shadow form.
If they could change it to purple aura that would be better.

There should also be a glyph to completely hide it.

Or just have the eyes turn fiery purple.

Oh my god I love this. I miss my ravens so much. Raiding that Scarlet compound in New Hearthglen, Dragonblight with full shadow ravens felt amazing. It seemed very warcrafty and challenging, and very fitting for the questline. It’s such a fond memory from wrath. Thaumaturgist’s orb is okay, but it doesn’t last. Voidform is… something, but I’m not sure how I feel about it today.

Full ravens + Dark Archangel looked phenomenal

I personally love Voidform currently, I dont see it often and that good, however I would prefer it had an option without the levitate effect.

I wonder if it has to do with the b-licsence. Not everyone has it. I don’t have it and tl3 is not account wide for me.
