Shadow Priest needs a lot more than 4%

Aug is not a regular DPS class. Yes, technically you join groups as a DPS, however it’s considered almost solely a support class. Shadow Priest isn’t.

Such a rough time right now for us. +1

Praying for some proper buffs this week… so demoralizing spending a good chunk of time gearing my Spriest only to get out damaged by everybody :unamused:

Lolz wannabe warlocks needs a buff?? just be a warlock , ppl would actually invite you for summons bear minimum

We shall see.

A good reason to scrap PI. 4% dps going through one ability seems insane to me.

My first 80 was my shadow priest. I went to visit family just afterwards and came back almost at the same time as Earthen became playable. I rolled this guy and haven’t gone back except to transfer profession mats and sell them on the AH.

Shadow is such a disappointment this expansion so far. If they really release a void based class like everyone expects in Midnight, Shadow is just going to roll over and die.

It kinda of is, is the thing. ST accounting for PI is mid pack and it’s not unreasonable to argue the type of AoE present on most of these raid fights on mythic is something shadow is simply incapable of, which leads to a middle single target performance not being in any way justified.

A spec cannot be this bad at something this relevant and be only at best mediocre in any other aspect.

Shadow is definitely under-tuned, and at some point also needs a rework.

Only question is, when are they going to stop beating around the bush and give it what it needs. I don’t understand why they just seem to pick one class or spec to ignore every expansion, despite it clearly under-performing…

it buffs the whole party, and by a sizable amount more, and provides defensive and healing buffs too, it’s also entirely designed as a support spec, it’s not really comparable

Dude they got a 4% annnnnnd a 6% and are pretty solid kits. Try being a class that hasnt gotten any buffs except pvp and still mid lvl dps below shadow priests. And a decrease in armor and hp. Im hearing 1st world complaints here. Next warriors, pallys, hunters, and arcane mages are going to comolain they dont do enough.

My small suggestion is to put Shadow Crash on a much longer CD but have its CD reduced rapidly by dot ticks so that it is almost spammable when doing aoe. This will also solve people using it for single target when it’s intended for aoe (by having the long CD). If you want to take the concept further, I’d then make a passive talent where the next crash will do more damage based on the number of ticks, up to a cap. All of these ideas, by the way, pair well with the passives that make dots tick faster, creating more synergy. Depending on how many talent nodes you’d want, I’d then consider taking the larger target cap passive talent and just bake it into the skill.

That is the stupidest argument I’ve ever heard.

“Don’t buff something that clearly still needs to be buffed, because there are other things that need to be buffed.”

Clueless.

Shadow Crash isn’t the only problem. Shadow is still lacking damage compared to other well balanced specs. As stated before, lacking mobility, CC, and a reliable interrupt, and still doing less damage than classes that have all of those things just doesn’t make sense, plain and simple.

Amen. Just needs more.

They need to remove DI so they can finally make that a proper class

Please for the love of god buff Spriest this week, dots & mind blast need a big boost as well as a few other things, but can we at least start there…

They shouldn’t even have to do that tbh. Look at what other DPS specs have, much more mobility, utility, cc, kicks + lust, and they still have higher damage output.

Damage ebbs and flows depending on tuning, it’s kind of irrelevant to class design. Sometimes you’re on top like last season and sometimes you’re on bottom like this season.

The issue with PI is that it’s unique to priest and used as a justification for not giving priests all the extra utility/mobility etc that other classes have. Priest as a result feels like a class that’s 10 years behind other classes in class design.
