Shadow client and WoW

Since this is a VMware PC I control is this good to use to play Blizzard’s game?

Is that a cloud-based system? If so, that is currently not permitted.

What is considered authorized? Mods for shadow saying it’s perfectly fine?

Simply put, at this point if it’s cloud based then it’s not authorized.

Well… They are literally saying they’ve been talking to Blizzard staff about this and it’s good? Would like a blue post to confirm!

Blizzard won’t officially authorise any 3rd party application.

3rd party applications often spin this to generate sales etc.

Can we get a blue post to confirm?

Like to see some documentation on that. People will say anything to get you to buy their product.

You are not gonna get a confirmation or denial from the Blizzard staff, use at your own risk.

How about this, we’ve had ZERO confirmations from any blues or Blizzard on authorized services when using a cloud. Meaning, there are none so far.

The company you’re talking to is not being truthful.

Edit: And perhaps think about choosing an appropriate character name to post on. If you self-report, then you’ll save yourself from any actions from Blizz.

Blizzard is unlikely to confirm/deny whether this is ok unless it is done through an official statement, of which I haven’t seen any saying there are any authorized cloud services.

In July and August there were widespread reports of bans for cloud gaming. I haven’t seen any since then. Caveat emptor.

Well it’s shadows discord Mods saying that it is safe. So a confirmation from Blizzard would be nice! Imagine how many more people would be playing.

Really? How many! So far it’s you, and you’re risking your account doing so.

I never said I was using it. I will if it is a authorized third party app or get a confirmation from Blizzard that it is safe for use.

Please realize they have literally nothing to lose and everything to gain here, as in your money.

You, on the other hand, run a very serious risk of losing your account. Ask yourself, is it worth the risk?

As for a blue response two things. First please note you are never guaranteed a response. Asking for one confirming what they told you almost certainly will not come considering…

Two. Scrolling up will show you word for word the official, written by the lawyers, policy. It states cloud gaming is not allowed

This may change in the future, but that clause was just added this summer. Based on that, I don’t see it changing any time soon.

Was wondering why this sounded familiar.

The answer remains the same as it did 18 days ago - if it’s cloud-based, it’s against the EULA.

Blizzard will NEVER give authorization of a 3rd Party App to play this game or any of their other games. Like I said, use at your own risk.

It is highly unlikely that Blizzard will ever allow cloud computing for World of Warcraft. It can be used to hide botting. As well, Blizzard has no control over the EULA provided by a third-party company. The third-party could change it and allow things Blizzard does not.

I won’t guarantee that Blizzard won’t at some point, but I highly doubt it.

Straight up, if there isn’t a news item/blog post about it, if you can’t find it on Blizzard’s own site, then it isn’t supported.

Talking to Blizzard about it and getting sanctioned by blizzard are not the same thing.

If blizzard ever sanctions a cloud based service, it will only be after the lawyers for both companies come to an agreement to prevent future changes to the service without authorization from blizzard.
That’s not a fast process.

Damn… I kind of figured yet they still say “safe to use” I messaged Blizzard on Twitter let’s see what happens I guess. It would be a nice addition if I was allowed to be used then I would think have to carry my laptop around and use my tablet lol!

That’s like getting a no from your mom then running to your dad hoping for a yes. Blizzard is not gonna authorize playing the game on a 3rd party service.
