Severs declining in population

Week by week all medium population serves are dramatically decreasing.

It’s only a matter of time before people unsub.

I hope Blizzard has a plan or is in the works of either allowing free transfers, merging servers, cross realm gameplay. Anything!

Please just help those stuck on dying servers.

Merging servers will never happen.
Xrealm would upset alot of people.

They do provide free xfers from low pop to high pop occasionally.

There’s implications with anything.

Same was said with boosting and layering.

But guess what? Those made it to TBC.

I guess what you meant was if it involved not generating income for Blizzard, or if it didn’t benefit a vastly majority of players gameplay, it’s not worth considering.

I’ve been against the idea of Blizzard taking a stricter approach to server populations and faction balance, but hopefully they learn from this mistake when Wrath launches. I appreciate that they want the transfer money, but it should never have gotten this bad.

  1. Boosting is limited to one.
You’re going to have a hard time convincing anyone it’s significantly causing these issues.

  2. If you remove layering people would still quite because the game would become unplayable - same exactly problem but now it’s every server.

Unplayable? That’s how all medium populations servers are right now. The difference is that they’re unplayable in different ways, so I guess it’s only important to address the issues mega servers face, since it is in fact the majority. Who cares about anyone else honestly.

Bring back layering because mega servers need it.

Cross realm though? No that’s absurd to even suggest.

You realize that so many servers populations started plummeting the second blizzard posted the list of free transfers, it highlights that there is an issue and it ignited even more chaos and uncertainty for the health of many servers.

Blizzard did not think any of their decisions through, or at least how it seems, but definitely we’re not made in the best interest of players, but cash.

There’s a level of due diligence that is owed when making critical decisions. Actions have consequences and Blizzard knows nothing of that.
Pretty much just summed up my whole point in this.

If you removed layering… medium population servers would still be unplayable.

/facepalm.

Mega servers have their own issues too. They’re a lot closer to the retail experience as far as grouping and community is concerned.

You do realize medium servers still use layers during peak times, right…!?

If you remove layers the vast majority of servers become unplayable (medium+)

How did classic WoW manage to maintain healthy servers. I don’t remember any mega servers and in fact there were several “full” servers.

People waited 6 hour queues, but guess what those who didn’t want to wait actually transferred off. You’ll never have that problem in TBC because of the infinite number of layers allowed.

Blizzard basically enabled the creation of mega servers.

You had this problem in TBC when it was first released.

This is nothing new.
It was a problem back then, it’s a problem now.

Layers are irrelevant.
