Bro what?? It is very easy to get to 60. This game has been out for 20 years its not like its a different game.
Its so weird to me when HC players make up some hidden difficulty on a game weve leveled in over and over. My first character made it to 60 and i knew what was dangerous going forward just from playing the game. Maybe its difficult to new players
Yes, I am a human. And yes, I can read, especially Terms of Service. Specifically, Terms of Service which state:
So, yeah, everything you are whining about are issues you already agreed were acceptable before creating a character. Hardcore is not for you. Itâs just that simple.
OK, but youâre not getting what Iâm saying here.
Iâm not saying âDC deaths are not covered by the TOS!â, Iâm saying âNo game designer plans for DCâs to be an expected way to die, and they should find some way around it if they can, and not rely on such a lame copout of putting that in their TOSâ.
If you want to argue against me, at least argue what I am saying, rather than against what I am not saying. Otherwise donât even reply because there is no point.
Yeah, I am. You want to make it out like developers can control DCâs. News flash, they canât. There are too many variables that can cause a disconnect with very few being on the server side or the fault of the game. Even a rudimentary understanding of network development and administration would have you understanding that.
As such, it makes sense to not allow death exceptions due to disconnects as there is no way to prevent disconnects or to prove you died as a result of one. Itâs far too easy to abuse such an exception.
Iâve replied to you appropriately, and youâre not saying anything that has not been said since the launch of hardcore.
Youâre not required to read anything I post, you choose to.
AGAIN, youâre not getting what Iâm saying here.
Iâm not saying they can control all DCâs, Iâm saying there is a specific bug that causes a DC, which they absolutely can fix if they put more effort into it. There are literally multiple threads about this problem in the bugs forums, and they have known about it since the first week of HC, yet it still happens, and itâs still easy to reproduce the bug. Just gets dazed, go in/out of stealth, or drink some wine, near a body of water, and within 20 seconds you will get a DC. No lag beforehand. No ISP problem. No modem problem. This is a BUG, that they have the power to fix.
I myself have reported this bug nearly 2 months before I eventually died to it. This is why I no longer have the motivation to play on HC. Deal with it, and stop trying to put words in my mouth.
I remember you from hardcore, you were alright but your guild sucks bro, you guys deserve to be on a dead server. You are delusional if you think Hardcore was going to last more than a couple months, especially with the PC nonsense that your guild was peddling.
Actually HC now feels very much like Vanilla was back in 2006.
Not crowded, nice people everywhere, helping, buffing, heck even talking and emoting to one another. No zones are deserted, no level brackets empty. The only difference really from Vanilla is that the high levels - Iâd say 45+ - are more sparsely populated. And people re-rolling has the same effect as Vanilla where we also did not all start playing at the same day.
People used to the faster pace of Pservers or Seasonal or even Classic launch do of course scream âMurderâ or âDead serversâ. But in reality I think this is the closest weâve come to Vanilla for a long, long time.
They flubbed big time. They waited way too long to release the HC realms, then throw SoD in immediately after. It was just bad planning all the way around.
Agreed, everything should have been just a little bit earlier. Now SoD will bleed into Cata (woopdedoo right?) but it has made everything a little messier than it needed to be.
Weâre just spread out a lot more. A lot of the people left now are the survivors and we arenât all in one or two starting zones.
As the server matured this was always going to be the case, even if a new shiny game mode hadnât been released.
Hardcore for a lot of players is a fairly solo affair anyway, so not having 20 other players on the screen isnât necessarily a bad thing for a lot of people.
The zoomers raced to 60 and were gone in 2 weeks, off to find another speedrun challenge. The rest of us are just happily chugging along. Iâm 49 now (admittedly with a 34, 26 and 22 in the wings as well).
Iâm not splitting when I hit 60. For me that is the first part of the journey. Then I am going to see what I can do at that level too.
I just love this Classic world and hardcore is the version I feel is currently the most authentic, mostly free of bots and the people still playing are those that actually enjoy the mode and want to be here. This makes them the people I want to play with.
You make a character and try to get to 60 without dying. Pretty straightforward. The game is the same as non hardcore to play, except dungeons can only be done once a day each until you get to 60. You are allowed to group, trade, use mail and auction house. Join a guild if you like to socialize.
Theyâre doing an optional SF (self found) mode sometime soon I hear. You will not be able to mail, trade or use auction house. You are able to group though.
If you die you either delete, or you can transfer to the Era servers and continue with your character.
This thread has some good tips for a success run,
