Yeah, though the hype there is starting to die down a bit the servers are still busy, I am finding it a bit hard to get into though, and honestly prefer the HC myself so won’t be putting in a ton of time there, really only playing at all there because friends want to do it.
no it didn’t
it’s just people chasing the new and shiny
What a hill to die on. Just keep doubling down and you might break even. Hardcore is fine and I see plenty of people on DP when I’m on. So, what is your point? Because, this seems like a really sad attempt to try and scare players into supporting death exceptions. It won’t happen on hardcore, EVER. One life is what makes hardcore, well, hardcore. It’s not for you so move on.
MMOs are fads in and of themselves; that’s why the require constant patch/expansion updates to maintain interest.
And by proxy any game that releases without new content will certainly suffer the same fate. Anything just left to its own devices is going to eventually die out, it’s not a flaw of the system, it’s a feature.
He has to cry and try to get validation because other people are enjoying something.
How do you it wouldn’t be dead at the same time EVEN with DC protection?
SoM slowed down a lot after a new patch of TBC classic. SoD will be a lot less populated before even getting to 60 cap even if death is not permanent there.
I never saw the appeal to this server to begin with. As easy as it is to die in classic to something stupid I would be rage quitting before ever getting level 10 lol.
Im playing from Aus, and managing to get toons to 59, 48 and 54 before dying.
Currently pushing a warrior who is at 29 and have levelled my bank to 21 for profs and some grief protection.
It is not complicated, just pull one thing at a time so you have the ability to cope if you pull an add.
On the contrary, I personally waited for SoD to launch before playing hardcore, because now I know that remaining player base is who will remain and raid with me. I’ve spent the last two weeks playing hardcore knowing SoD was comming.
Seasonal servers just don’t interest me. I see their appeal for ARPGS, but in an MMORPG they just feel off to me.
I’ve been following it though and it’s looking like it has turned out the way I thought. So sticking with my hardcore crew.
A lot of my friends and I will be back in HC when SF is released, theirs really no point trying to reach 60 and then doing it all over again for SF, might aswell kill 2 birds with one stone really.
I lost a 45 rogue because of a bug that causes DC. Getting dazed out of stealth in the bloodsail boat, and DC before I could vanish and jump out the window.
Was it my own internet causing the DC? Nope. It was a game bug where a change in movement speed (and seemingly near water) causes you to DC.
I had previously gotten to 60 on HC, and getting to 60 in HC is not a badge of honor as much as people like Glinda seem to think. It’s easy honestly. So losing a character because of a DC, a bug DC at that, is what got me to switch over to just playing Era again.
Who know’s maybe blizzard will do a HC SOD.
That’s nonsense. Sure, ppl who’ve died to DC will quit, but the majority of the decline at the moment is due to the new shiney.
I told everyone prior to this crap launching that was stupid and would be dead a few months later.
NGL i haven’t been feeling anything adverse except maybe the 40’s bracket being harder to find a group for as DPS, but even then it’s getting better again already
If it was so easy… why not go agane??
HC isnt easy. Most classes have something that can trip you up on the way to 60.
And when you start engaging with Elite quests, instances or Raid content, its not just your misplays and mistakes that cost you.
Because TIME commitment. Also there is a motivation commitment, and I am out of motivation. Dying by a bug that causes a DC is a critical hit on my motivation. A normal death wouldn’t be.
Based on the ToS of which you agreed to before creating a hardcore character, DC deaths are “normal” deaths.
You’re a human right? With thoughts of your own outside of “what the TOS states”? Dying because of a bugged DC in a game, is most certainly not part of the development process when a game is made. It is not normal. Just because they are too lazy to find a solution, so they stamp some fine print on a TOS, does not mean this was in some way an intentional obstacle for a player to overcome.
