Server population Distribution

There are some pretty reasonable concerns from both factions on specific servers as far as availability to access content in the game. I am of course talking of raiding, competing guilds, and finding out where the player may fit in.

If you look at some servers, Skeram has 4.3% alliance and 95.7% horde.
Thalnos is 3.6% alliance and 96.4% horde.
Heartseeker is 90.4% alliance and 9.6% horde.
Then there is pagle which is 82.8% alliance and 17.2% horde.

There are a lot of pockets of players being locked out of content just due to them rolling on a server for playing with friends or because they didn’t know better at the time where they were investing their time in their character. There are many other examples poor faction ratios, but I don’t need to list every server for stats I googled. Some of these servers may not be sitting at the top expected amount of players a server can use.

What exactly I am getting at is I believe we should combine many servers into one population group in hopes to balance things out at about 4:6 rather than 1:5 or 1:10. I think that might be the single best thing in regard to the health of tbc communities on servers as there would be more people to meet more guilds accessible more reason to not want to quit later down the line when some people are raid logging and others are leveling their alts. If it is possible I would even say it is okay to go over the current population, I do not know how feasible it is but I think #somechanges are good changes.

As far as pve and pvp and rp and rppvp, somethings may need to be considered when combining pve and pvp servers such as maybe running polls on each server that is maybe accessible to vote in shatrath where they might be asked if combining with a pvp and pve server would you prefer the combination be a new pve server or pvp server? or maybe the servers could merge into the higher population one as not to disrupt the majority. I can not say for certain there will not be push back from some people, but while on herod pvp server a lot of the time people tend to leave others alone.

TL;DR There is too much of a disparity on too many servers locking people out of resources and content which could create an unfavorable experience and perpetually worsen things as they leave or quit.

That is about it. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Yeah well people at this point know what they are getting into. Server populations are starting to settle down now I don’t think this will change.

It’s a personal mistake that some player horde main decides to roll on a 90%+ alliance pve server as horde when you have other servers 90%+ horde…

Merging pve servers with other pve servers for what purpose? turn on pvp? you’re forcing something that people don’t want to… some people roll on pve servers for a reason.

So what about all the people who leveled back in classic and slowly saw people quit or leave without the replacement of new guilds and people?

Do you think people actually research a server to find the ratio of one faction to another? There are a lot of people who join servers because their friend(s) are already there. As far as merging two pve servers in hopes it becomes pvp is not even close to what I was suggesting. That poll would only apply to those who are a pvp server and a pve server. It is a no brainer if it is two pve servers that the outcome is that they would all be on one pve server.

That being said I have pointed out that there are issues for both factions depending on the server. Horde and alliance get screwed if nothing is done.
