Surely realm names aren’t going to be classic realm 1 etc. Aren’t they going to have names like they do in retail?

There’s no realm named Stormstout.

I want to play on a Classic realm named Stormstout.

placeholder names probably. They did say they would be playing with the realm settings through out the stress test.

PvP - Anduin
RP - Yrel
RP - Taran
PvE - Talanji
PvE - Jaina
RP/PvP - Wrathion

Jaina, Anduin, and Blightcaller are fine, but the rest have zero zilch nada to do with Classic.

I really like Blightcaller for the name of a PVP server though.

I’d also roll an Alliance toon on a Fordragon server.

Or Van Cleef.

Name some servers after the bodies of water like the Forbidding Sea and Veiled Sea. North, south, and great are less interesting although the South Seas may be one of interest.

Doesn’t anyone remember the Q&A where they said they would be using new realm names so its not confused with retail? So we’ll probably get some lore names that haven’t been used yet.

They already stated they won’t be releasing that information or any info to do with server information until closer to launch. My best guess is it will be not long before we can create our characters.

I could actually see them keeping the realms named (numbered) this way to prevent Horde / Alliance bias on servers with clearly Horde / Alliance connotations in the realm names.

Yes. That was not what I was trying to say. I was saying we will get the realm information closer to the date we can create out characters. Blizzard said they will release realm information closer to launch. We get to create characters 2 weeks out from launch. It stands to reason we would get realm information before that. I would imagine it wouldn’t be very long before that. That’s all I am saying.

We already know when we can create them.

This is a stress test. They want it to be clear you won’t be keeping your characters.
