blackrock got connected a couple of weeks ago, and aside from a few people trying to cut in on some of “my” markets, i’m not noticing a lot of difference.
after watching the very first round of connections, i was expecting a whole bunch of animosity between players, but nothing has really changed.
(oh, and my armory is still 404, but that’s no biggy)

The morning they connected Madoran and Dawnbringer to Staghelm/Azuremyst, i logged in and Dazar’alor was packed with the new kids. My first thought was “They don’t even GO here”
Apparently those servers were so small that they had no mythic raiding scene. We actually had guild snipers mailing some of our casual raiding team by looking back at our logs. Even though we’ve only been killing N’zoth for the past 5 weeks, then doubling back for Mythic BoD

Maybe. I am familiar with people picking on specific words from others’ posts to prove they have a point and then later claiming themselves to be snarky so they don’t look petty, so nothing new there =^3^=

I have many toons on Exodar-Medivh which is kinda dead. My main issue, and I think this is what blizzard wants to fix first, is the server economy. Having a dead AH, where everything is super expensive (500g 30slot bags… when on A52 they’re 85g) and everything takes forever to sell (1000 rubbery flanks needs to be reposted a few times) is not fun.
Yes finding guild and having a higher faction population sure would help, but we have everything cross-realm and LFG tool for that.
I’d rather they focus on having 50/50 outside world phase ratio.
until there is a 50/50 playerbase, this can’t happen

They can buy a server transfer whenever they want. Server connections don’t server transfer you, they just effectively put more people on your server.
Yes but it still connects you from your low population server with your own economy and guilds to a server you did not choose that will now affect your economy and what can be done with guilds between both servers.
Sure, you are still on your own server for the sake of logging in, but everything now is affected by what server you are being connected to.
They already do, you can pay $25 to transfer your character to any server you like. No you shouldn’t be given one for free.
If this is about the connected realms, they’re using their data to figure out which servers to connect. They’re never going to let players decide which server theirs is connected to.
It’s technically not though, all servers are still on their own server blade. If Blizzard ever wanted to they could disconnect each server from each other.

I’m transferring servers because of the merge so I’d be fine with free transfers if Blizz wanted
I’d also like a planned connection list so I could plan where to transfer my characters
