Server Downtime - Why do people find this acceptable in 2023?

I’m genuinely curious as to why people find this acceptable? I’m assuming it’s because “it’s just always been that way” or they think it’s required.

There is no need for such long downtime outages for patching. They could easily stage updated servers for us to move over to and the worst case scenario is that we get kicked out and have to reauthenticate.

I’m guessing they choose not to resolve this (even though it’s easily resolvable) because the community finds it as an acceptable practice, and it was…20 years ago.

This really should get corrected for the people who have their days off on patch days. (No, I’m not one of them). I just think the general practice should not be acceptable.

They are applying new data to a… 20 year old game? Wow…

Are they done with the patching yet?

Play something else? I always find it strange how some people’s lives revolve around a certain game.

The game is good, but it’s not that good that I have to play it at this exact moment.

Yea I’m snowed in today and I’ve finished all my books. So I’m kinda effed.
It sucks immensely and I wish they would pre-load or pre-patch this shiz.

BUT it’s always been like this. I knew last night I’d be bored as F today.
