Server died, not worth transferring

Uh the server was alive when my guild did our research. If I could see the future and everyone leaving from alliance I wouldn’t have transferred there

Never mind the fact that they didn’t do anything about my server which forced me to transfer in the first place. Like you want to ridicule people about where they transferred? It should’ve never gotten to the point where people HAD to transfer.

I transferred 2 alliance. One off kromcrush, which is now 100% horde. And one off incendius which has 99 TOTAL PLAYERS from both factions. Both to Earthfury which has dropped now 20% alliance since launch

i have been paying attention. most of the ally are tranfering to bene to make 1 mega server, prior to phase 1 i didnt transfer because i knew there was going to be a spike on all servers. (thunderfury was a high pop server and is now med to low pop.) phase 1 went on for a few weeks, and a couple of big guilds transferred off because of a lack of players.

Warcraftlogs is the most reliable 3rd party info youll ever get - 1-4guilds that cleared current content, and an assload of guilds that cant kill gruul nor mag… your server isnt going to make it.

A lot of players like medium or large population servers and no mega.

Issues are with these smaller servers is that if one side gets too many xfers, the other side starts to leave as competition for world quests, bosses etc becomes unfun and too much trouble.

Another is the player pool is smaller so if you lose a few raiders then you may have a good chance of never filling their spots with anyone of quality. Too many guilds fighting over limited player numbers and thus people leave.

Yes, the ally are mostly transferring to Benediction now. Like I said I’ve never paid for a transfer and I have been watching everything too so I’m looking at it from that perspective.

Before TBCC was released how would anyone have known that these super mega servers with no queues would be allowed to exist? Blizzard has never been transparent and in fact, they still aren’t transparent. It’s not like they said, “Hey we’re going to let everyone stack on one server so there may just be one horde 99% “PVP” super mega server and one alliance 99% “PVP” super mega server and that’s that.”. More people probably waited if they knew Benediction was going to happen.

A lot of people who transferred in April 2020 for example did do a lot of research on warcraftlogs, ironforge.pro, on the server discords, chatting with people on the servers etc. They looked at how many guIlds were clearing Naxx even when that gear would be irrelevant soon. They tried. Playing the blame game just because you sat on Thunderfury and waited to see what would happen isn’t really fair.

This is the part I really hate, having no choice. My server preference is between medium - high but some people like smaller. The only smart choice is no choice - go to the super mega server Benediction that will be 99% ally soon. I mean the only other choice is to go PVE (and for some that’s probably smart) but that’s not really a choice either.

The problem with the super mega servers is the zero accountability which creates a certain type of server culture where you can’t trust anyone else. People guild hop on repeat. People drop groups without a word. People scam and brag about it. It’s just not good for anyone who doesn’t like this toxic stuff. I know people who transferred to Benediction (since there aren’t exactly a lot of options for alliance now and they were following their guild) and they absolutely hate it and only raid log now because they can’t stand the server. That certainly doesn’t inspire me to transfer an ally there so I’ll just sit on Earthfury for now with it but at least horde side is healthy and I play that too. If I only played my ally I don’t know what I would be doing.

In fact they very clearly said the opposite. They told us over and over layers were temporary and would end soon.

fairbanks was over 2k alliance going into tbc, one of the best communities during vanilla.

many servers are experiencing this, they need to combine servers

Totally agree. Server reputation is so important for mmorpgs. However, most wow players don’t actually want a mmorpg. They want to log in and instantly go straight to whatever instance they need to “progress” further until they have all their gear and can start over or quit.

Same. Server died and since Blizz isn’t gonna fix the servers so they can rake in $25 transfer fees I un-subbed also. Both raid nights this week we weren’t able to fill and unable to recruit due to a max exodus from our server. I bet once the transfers slow down they will open up free transfers to try to stop the bleeding sub count.

Shame. The longer they wait, the less likely it is that I will return.
