Serious question...how do I gear at 80?

You are ignoring everyone’s advice

Just as bad as complaining about your problems without doing anything to fix them

So yes a troll

Well this is Classic… most of us have either been playing since Vanilla, playing since TBC or playing since the very start of wrath. Because coming in late to game that’s been solved over a decade ago to cater to US that refuse to accept the new retail formula is sort of a bad idea? I mean…

Sure go ahead and JOIN US… but most and mean MOST of us have been playing this for awhile now and have amassed fortunes and loots and achievements that make the notion of “starting over” feel very bad.

You can jump into that Hardcore scene? As for RDF the “powers that be” have decided for ALL of us that it’s too Retail…

Please explain to me how im ignoring everyone’s advice? lol would you like me to reply to every single one of them as a thank you?

Got decently geared in 1 neo spent 3k tops

As opposed to the level 70 sock puppet account?

At least my excuse is that my account is EU and my classic toon is 80 just fine. I just ain’t paying for a sub to post on the US forums cause the separation of forums is silly.

Yeah well, those of us who play can definitely feel that the decline in playerbase is not getting replenished at all.

Let’s just suppose RDF is in the game and y’all are running regular heroics.
Do you think those heroics would be dropping Naxx purps?
What would you do with a full set of dungeon blues? Will that get you into higher content?
Or do you just want to run the same boring content of 5-mans over and over again for zero rewards?

Feel free to look up my name on logs. I’m the only Zachaios in WoW classic. Try again.

Right.

Run along now little fellah.

My guy, you could’ve avoided this by simply doing the same.

Badges take you a long way and doing Naxx took you the remaining way.

This system was already in place.

And?

If you think my lack of desire to participate in discussing a topic which is spam is disengaging from a conversation out of some sort of fear/concern … you’re quite wrong.

Feel free to return back to the basement anytime.

That interpretation is entirely on you lad.

Run along now.

But gamers are a different breed 15 years later.
Everyone wants to log in, get the gear (or the chance) they want, and then log off and do other things. There’s so many more games to play these days, let alone RL responsibilities.
The gatekeeping will remain the same. It’s who gamers are these days.

Okay, but H+ and it’s idiotic companion LFG system actively works against this desire.

We were the same 15 years ago btw.

It’s why heroics died outside of the daily in the original. Oh, that same thing is happening again?

Well, color me shocked! Flabbergasted even! Disbe… oh screw it, Blizzard is actively killing the game to cater to an audience that doesn’t exist.

I agree with that. It dis-incentivizes any rare person who might want to help random newcomers.

I suppose so. I would have quit real quick back in the day without friends to play with.
That’s not the argument most are making though. A common argument on these forums are they people will willingly run Naxx to get people Ulduar geared - and so on as the patches come out.

Yeah, the idea that your guild is going to run you through a bunch of raids to get a new alt geared is stupid and has never happened unless the guild desperately needed a certain alt.

That’s kinda why pugging has to be accessible and H+ threw a massive wrench in that.

I have never seen that argument made. Just like back in the day people will run them for various reasons and as the content gets older they’re more likely to take lower geared players.

I don’t think the solution is simply RDF though. That won’t get people more than badge gear - which is a very incomplete set. They’ll still have to do the thing of filling slots with pvp gear and spending thousands on crafted gear - or swiping to run GDKPs - or even join a guild which may or may not require the same steps to gearing.

but you just did?

Which gets you into a Naxx run which then gets you into Ulduar.
