My ally character is on benediction…so no problem on population. But…how do I gear at level 80 when all I see are H+ runs and H+ groups?
I mean, don’t I have to be somewhat geared to even run that?

Apparently you have to pvp and/or buy everything off the AH to get invited into H+ (and H++ later on).

Running Wintergrasp as many times as you can until you get 5/5 Hateful with Deadly/Furious offsets will get you to ~3900 GS. You can also use the Wintergrasp marks to fill in slots, too.
Or you can just wait for the next Arena season to start, that’s my plan (check out my cool 5/5 Hateful with Deadly/Furious offsets)

That’s fine and all but I don’t get many people looking for regular heroic is my point
After you get whatever you can through rep rewards, emblems of heroism from quests, argent tournament, and PvP, you should run a Naxx pug. It’s easy even if you’ve never done it and there are plenty of people gearing alts who knows their roles well, and if you try a 25 you’ll end up with a literal pile of gear at the end. Naxx skip runs (only killing sapph/KT) are also very popular for gear but esp weapons

When H+ was on the PTR, you could only use characters from a template with full quest blues, and people we’re able to clear it. So you don’t have to be geared for it. I’m not saying people won’t try and gatekeep, but numbers wise, it is possible.

PvP so you can get the garbage honor set. Better than nothing to start off. Then start doing Heroics, and eventually Titan.
Get in AV weekend asap and buy 232 pvp gear to inflate your gearscore
For my last character (because all the nubs care about is gear score) I simply geared my new toons in PVP to raise their gear score even if the stats are crap it works,

I bought full hateful on my disc which brought me to a decent GS baseline, then did old content raids with my guild a few times and bam, ulduar ready.

You could also buy the crafted boe’s.
I got belts and boots for multiple toons and they were around 200g to 800g.
Might be a lot for a new fresh toon but it could be worth it for a quick 232 piece with sockets.
you don’t it’s why 90% of the pop quit and blizzard is now adding another heroic+ option that will be gatekeep’t even more and no one will run the other heroic+ or heroic normal lol
they cater to the cringe 1% streamer retail crowd. WOTLK classic is now retail.
at least retail as RDF so you can at least gear alts without being denied groups

people who actually play with pugs know how pugs are. There’s plenty of dad guilds out there killing algalon who are having a good time, cracking a beer, and making jokes for 2-3 hours a night, once or twice a week.

Sure, and a lot of us would play the game more if we didn’t have to contend with the gatekeeping of the current LFG tool.
