Sept 8th-12th 2019 - WoW connection issues / WOW51900328

I suggest that you use WinMTR app. It’ll tell us if AT&T is at play here…WHICH i think they are.

I’m pretty sure this is ATT but blizzard pays the internet bill (or whoever has taken over)

At the very least blizz should speak up and say something about it somewhere to let us know they are actually working on it / not relying on the community to solve their issues.

I’m on Verizon and I have seen Tmobile users too, I don’t think it is just ATT

Error code: WOW51900328
Location: Live - Rexxar server
VPN: None
ISP: AT&T
Internet Connection: Wired Broadband

Started Saturday, was able to play Sunday when it started again. Managed to get in for an additional half an hour or so Sunday randomly and then the rubber band was so bad I logged out and wasn’t able to log back in.
Continue to not be able to log in now.

look at the 1st wintrace i posted, all the data packets just mysteriously vanish on AT&T servers. I legit think they’re the culprit…

I know Verizon and TMobile people are affected, but running a traceroute shows that AT&T is dropping packets like hot potatoes

ProtonVPN fixed my issue with tethering from my phone. Just thought I’d put that out there.

Hi there,

ISP: Sprint
Problem is actual IP of ISP wont let me connect WoW servers, Used VPN and worked. Not willing to use VPN tho, so help please.

us.logon.worldofwarcraft.c* resolves (for me) to 12.129.254.61 primarily (cached) but a nslookup (or dns lookup) shows a RR of 4 hosts.

Addresses: 12.129.254.62
12.129.222.61
12.129.222.62
12.129.254.61

NetRange: 12.129.192.0 - 12.129.255.255

NetName: ATTENS-LAX1-1
NetHandle: NET-12-129-192-0-1
Parent: ATT (NET-12-0-0-0-1)
NetType: Reallocated

The netblock used at the last hop (blizzard edge router) is leased by ATT.

Internet Connection: Wired Coax Broadband
ISP: Charter/Spectrum
This affects both live and classic connections
I was unable to resolve this with two different VPNs. I used openVPN to establish full tunnel connections through family connections on SELCO (Shrewsbury MA town cable) and Comcast cable but received the same error both times.

trying to switch servers from saurfang to thrall and get wow51900328 and disconnected from server

Wired Broadband
Comcast Xfinity
VPN does not resolve the issue
It is affecting both retail as well as Classic.

Additional notes: Sometimes I can get logged into a character, but am booted after less than 1 minute. Other times I do not make it all the way to the game world. I always get booted with the WOW51900319 error. I was able to play consistently from about 7am EST until roughly 2pm EST today, 09/09/2019, but have not been able to log in since then.

ProtonVPN works.

what country are you connecting through? ProtonVPN does not work for me connecting through Canada.

Copied from: Philippines - WoW Classic Connection

I am in Makati on a fiber connection (UL/DL of 26MBps/24MBps tested as of 30 seconds ago). I have no issues with any other connections, but about 24 hours ago Classic WoW went from a standard steady 200ms ping to 350+ms ping and spiking to 4k.

I also get disconnected regularly and cannot log in from the Battlenet launcher. Manual login does work, however. I should note that I have asked others on the Remulos server if they are having issues and the responses have been that they are not.

I rand a traceroute and pathping (not attached since the forum says “can’t include links in your post”) but your Looking Glass test does not list the Remulos server and I do not read Korean.

[Edit - Added Info] I have made a test character on Bloodsail Buccaneers and have a ping of 229ms. My best assumption is that this is an issue with Oceanic servers connecting to the Philippines.

[Edit - Added Info] ProtonVPN does not improve the latency, no info on diconnect issues yet.

Connecting through U.K. does not work either.

Canadian here just to make sure u guys Canadian too? just wondering if its a country issue …

Internet Connection: (Telephone, Tethered, Wired Broadband, etc) Tethering via PDANet+
ISP: Verizon Wireless
Does a VPN fix the issue for you, if so, which one? : Yes, ProtonVPN fixes the issue
Is this affecting both Live and Classic connections? : Yes, it affected both Live and Classic for me.

Canada here too
