I am having issues since the DDOS Attack, I ONLY can play with a VPN on, when I tried to connect with my regular connection (ISP with same IP as always) it WONT let me connect. So I have to play and connect WoW with a VPN software. Please help?

Works on Pop OS/Debian too.

  • Live vs Classic: Only playing live, haven’t been able to log on since 5pm yesterday. doesn’t affect any other blizzard games except overwatch, and no other game outside of that that I have tried. I can’t get past the “logging in to game server” message, and immediately get put back to login screen with error code WOW51900328

Edit: Just tried the Fix listed above and it work like a charm.
netsh int ipv4 set glob defaultcurhoplimit=128 for Windows 10 as Admin.

Just switched from using PDAnet+ tethering for my sprint connection to manual tethering (in settings menu) and its letting me connect to server now. Its prob gonna be slower now though.

Just confirming that this solution posted above fixed the issue for me. I’m able to login, and so far haven’t run into any issues.

Internet Connection: Wired Boradband. (tried tethered to Verizon mobile, wifi, and using an Ethernet to USB adapter).

Does a VPN…: No, I tried using Mudfish and it doesn’t work.

Is it affecting both?: I know for sure it’s affecting classic. I don’t want to download Live to test it out.

I’ve done it all; resetting routers and modems, ipconfig /release /renew /flushdns, disabling firewall and antivirus, reinstalling, scan/repair files. I even tried making a new admin account on my computer; that didn’t work. I can log on to my account just fine on the wife’s computer. We both can’t log on to mine, though.

After 24 hours and multiple back and forths with support I’ve finally found a free VPN and made it to a realm queue. Let’s just hope 500MB is enough data to keep me playing till a real fix is found.

yup. I was talking to CS via LiveChat. They said it was weird as well. She wasn’t playing during the DDoS attack, so I think it has something to do with hardware. Dunno, though.

I was playing Classic during the DDOS attack while trying to take the boat from Auberdine to Menethil. Every attempt to take the boat resulted in finding myself at the graveyard nearest Auberdine with an aborted zone transfer message in the chat box.

Only WoW appears to be impacted. I’m able to access all other Blizzard games without issue.

I have been attempting to login for 2 days and every time I try to login I am stuck at connecting to server and then it kicks me to the load screen with the 2 monuments. I have tried to restart my game, log out, delete addons, reset IP address, uninstall the game, and more and have had no luck. Please help because I am paying for a subscription and not able to play.
