Separate subscriptions, please

I prefer separate subscriptions so they can differentiate the price. Sure, $1-5 of my sub money may go to server upkeep, but I don’t see why a huge part of my subscription money should go to develop a version of the game I’m not interested in playing.

So what if retail players also have to pay to access Classic? Why should it be free for retail players but not Classic players? Blizzard have no incentive to give a product away for free when there are people are willing to pay for it. They are not a charity.

That's why I anticipate a bundle?

Sub to WoW, play both, or one or the other as you wish. Seems logical to me, why bifurcate your playerbase, clearly they all want to play some version of WoW.

It sounds to me like you just don't think $15/mo is worth it to play Classic?
Well, supposed "leaks" from Blizzcon say Classic will have it's own separate sub fee which means you wont have people from retail trolling trade chat. This is the best case scenario to be honest.

Nah, you'll just have people from Classic trolling trade chat.

Seriously. You losers that are against anyone that plays retail (I don't) really need to grow up and get a grip.

Simply proves how bad the Classic community really is.

Agreed. Provide an either/both subscription. There are things I miss from Classic, and things I enjoy from BfA (not much, at the moment while waiting for the next content to release, especially the new druid races).
.
A lot of "classic" players said they would by a sub fee if Blizzard would release a classic server. Time to put up or shut up

I don't care about having to purchase Classic (one-time fee) or not.

I don't really care what the subscription fee is; I'm pretty sure it's not going to be more than $15 for Classic.

But please, Blizzard, don't bundle Classic for free with Live. Some of us aren't interested in playing live, will never be interested in playing live, and would prefer the character names we wanted weren't grabbed by retail players who just wanted to poke their heads in and yell LOL WHY ARE YOU PLAYING AN OLD GAME WHAT"S WRONG WITH YOU!!!111?

Give Live players a discount if you want. Make paying for either Classic or Retail cost $15/month but paying for both of them cost only $20. Or make them entirely separate, such that paying for both of them costs $30. Or make Classic cheaper because it's not what you care about. Just don't offer Classic free with a Retail subscription.

If you don't mind paying $15 a month then wtf do you care if it's free with a live subscription? Its still $15 just don't play the retail servers and just play Classic its easy.
Just to let all of you know.

Runescape, which is $10 for both RS3 and OSRS, is a $10 subscription. So wanting to charge $5 for World of Warcraft Classic would make it's cost lower than Runescape Membership.

ToonTown, a DISNEY MMO was a $10 subscription.

People who want to charge $5 are just opening the gates for the very trolls they're afraid of. With a $5 subscription cost, don't be surprised when you see myself and others walking around with 40 accounts because it's only $200 a month.

Go ahead and charge $5 for a subscription, but don't be upset when you find more Prepared or mass multiboxers out in the world because you just lowered the barrier of entry significantly.

Why does this forum turn into a mental gymnasium each time this subject is brought up?

At this present time, there is BFA. Has a $15 sub. You are paying to play BFA. FULL STOP.

At the present time, a new completely separate, completely different game is being cobbled together from spare parts. This game was asked for by fans of it for well over a decade, and it is finally being provided. These fans are willing to pay for it, SPECIFICALLY.

So why should only those who actually want the new, separate, completely different game have to pay for it? Your $15 is paying for your BFA access. Not BFA plus Overwatch, or BFA plus D3, or BFA plus Starcraft, or BFA plus Heathstone. Why should your BFA sub include Classic? I mean, beyond your threat to not play it if it is not included at no additional cost.

That isn't true.

Someone could make a new account and pay $15 and play World of Warcraft. BFA is a separate purchase entirely that needs to be added to your account. So no, not everyone paying $15 a month has access to BFA.

You have mass multboxers in retail with a $60 box fee and $15/month.

I was saying you may have more. This uses the same "what if" logic that people are spewing about Live players coming and trolling on Classic servers. You know, it might happen. So I'm saying, it might happen you're going to get more multiboxers with that cheap fee.

I think you are using the term 'mass' pretty loosely here tbh. Mass multiboxers is like a wotlk pserver where you run into 5-20 shaman multi boxers every day.

It's not about being "anti-retailers", it's about being anti-persons with no investment in the game.

If they just toss it in free with a retail sub then there's no disincentive for a bored retail player to be a drive-by $%^&$#! on a classic server any time they feel like it. "Oh noes, I might get banned from a game I don't care to play for a few days, boohoo".

As soon as you have to make some sort of additional investment to do that sort of thing the chances of someone doing so decrease dramatically.
I wouldn't want them to mix the subs ONLY so Blizzard can't cheese sub numbers into one category for stockholders. I want to be able to see an active population and sub numbers comparison between retail and Classic.
Classic needs as much crossplatform promotion and interest from retail players as it can get, its a very niche concept to begin with.

Blizzard allows it so trying to artificially hinder it won't do much good.
If you don't like multi-boxers then go play another game that doesn't allow them.
