Separate leveling players from max level players into different shards

This steaming pile of amberseeds that is the new world PVP system needs to be changed. Just today I was ganked repeatedly by a geared, max level horde while leveling a hunter alt. I opted in, fine, I get it. However, when I tried to log onto a maxed out rogue with warmode on and return to the same spot to give the guy a more even fight, the place was a ghost town. Upon logging in to the hunter, the dude is still corpse camping. Back to the rogue, no one. So now I am on a quest to get back to Stormwind to turn off warmode, but these rez timers are offered me some time to make a forum post.

Now its bad enough that low level players are put in shards with max level players and not able to effectively fight back, but when we can’t use our max level alts to counter them its ridiculous. What gameplay value is there when our only options to stop getting ganked are to stop playing completely or turn off pvp? What gameplay value is added with this sharding tech if all our alts are not even on the same shard? My characters are effectively on different servers for all the use they are at countering ganks. Horde can corpse camp with impunity.

Sharding has ruined world pvp. Tarren Mill vs Southshore would have never existed if Vanilla had this sharding b.s. You can’t have the alliance on your server come defend a location if they are spread out on different shards. If you did organize a raid to go defend the location, chances are high they will be on a different shard than the one that needs defending.

Since a tenacity system is not likely going to be added to close the power gap, at least put max level players in their own shards. Battlegrounds are separated by level bracket after all, and for good reason. The proposed solution coming in 8.1 is not going to be enough for most people(myself included) to continue to level with warmode on. +30% experience doesn’t mean a thing if you are being corpse camped. Can’t get bonus experience on quests if you can’t do the quests… Please fix this. Please fix it before the next expansion.

This is a good solution. The only problem I can see is where max levels want to group with lower levels. But then they could just bring the lower levels in to the max level shard. I’m not sure how the sharding works, but this is a good solution if it is viable from a design perspective.

so… you complain that you cant get a revenge kill due to sharding. Then suggest that NO ONE get revenge kills?

i can see your next complaint thread now… NOW IM GETTING GANKED BY 119s and my 120 is really useless now in these situations thanks to my own suggestion

weird, im all for this btw…leveling to 119, turning off xp, twinking that bad boy out . talk alot of crap to 120s that will NEVER be able to kill me lol.

Thank you for your insight. I never would have thought the solution to fixing a broken game system were as simple as not using it. If only the devs took that approach without other game systems people have issues with. Don’t like the lake of gear from Mythic+? Simple, don’t do Mythic+. Genius!

I don’t do mythic + anymore or play my 120.

Pointless with ilvl scaling and level scaling.

If you don’t want wpvp to happen you just keep it off ok. I have mine on at all times.

I am just waiting on classic.

The only thing broken here is your corpse on the ground. Turn off WM while leveling if you don’t have any friends. Why inviting guild members or actual friends never the answer for the alliance?

If you want to complain strictly about the sharing technology, go for it. I agree. I should be able to see more alliance because I know there aren’t just 2 active players in a zone.
