Send us back!

This whole MEGA Server BS, You can shove it. Send us back to our servers. Reasons?

We picked servers we wanted to play on for reasons personal to every player.

A server with such a mass population is not only difficult to farm resources, but breaks the economy by having way to many people trying to sell same items. Over abundance of some, Under abundance of others.

Farming instead of buying what you need. It takes twice the time to get half the resources on your oh so NOT grand mega server.

Player community differences. OH LORD. The toxic attitudes have not just doubled they have sky rocketed now that you have to deal with a population that had a completely different way or doing things then other servers.

This is just a few reasons for this mega server idea to kick rocks.

Then lets go into how we already spent gold on Guild banks… But instead of making replacing the tabs already bought for free. You just half the cost? How about refunds Bliz. Don’t be cheap with the pixelated currency.

Homie, they aren’t going to back off this. This isn’t one of those times where we can throw a fit and Blizzard will cave. This isn’t like catch-up currency in retail.
Despite how bad the execution was, this was a full-send from Blizzard. You don’t walk back a full-send.

  1. Those same players choose to move to the mega server. The option to stay was available. They choose not to.

  2. That isn’t how an economy works. The economy doesn’t break no matter how little or how many sellers or resources there are.

  3. Yes, that is how farming resources on your own vs just buying them from the AH works. Even on a dead realm.

  4. Haven’t noticed a difference outside of Gal and Sha being possible later on in the week instead of just Tuesday and Wednesday.

  5. So, a bunch of personal subjective reasons are why mega servers shouldn’t exist? Alright, go play with the like-minded people who feel the same way as you do.

  6. The cost wasn’t halved. The cost was cratered. An 8 Tab bank costs 2015g iirc. 8 Tab Banks normally cost 39350g. That is a discount of around 95%.

That’s actually only partly true. A lot of misinformation was going around that you HAD to move servers or you would be forced to eventually anyways. So I think that pressured a lot of people to jump ship sooner than later (myself included). Also, they designated Grobb the PVP mega server, so many assumed most PVP’ers would go there from Bene… that proved to be totally not true. A lot of people stayed on Bene and others went elsewhere. Grobb is dead and Ra-den/Pagle are huge.

Not if you read the post - is this why you deleted your character to try and bypass the que in the transfers? Because you didn’t read the post?

Is that the cope we are going with now? That a lot of people were misled and that WPvPers from Bene didn’t go Grobb.

News flash.

A majority would move because a majority prefers mega realms… that is why they formed to begin with.

Then, if reports are to be believed. It isn’t that Benediction WPvPers didn’t go to Grobb. It was Faerlina and Whitemane that didn’t have an WPvPers to send, or not enough. Alliance is locked, Horde is not.

Ultimately, the WPvP community has always been small. At least long term. Grobb was never going to be a mega WPvP realm; it was just going to be the WPvP realm, and it was going to be small.

Unfortunately, most of the actual WPvP players are fairweather players. They will turn up for a fresh, play a few months, and quit when they have had their fill. Leaving behind all the non-WPvP players they dragged along with them because they refused to play on a PvE realm.

Uhh, refused is a strong word for a lot of us. We rolled on a PVP realm just like most everyone else in 2019. Grobb happened to become balanced. Ok, cool, whatever. Fast forward to now.. and suddenly that has become a situation where we cannot leave. We weren’t give a chance to leave to the mega realm like everyone else. Hell, you can’t even pay to get off Grobb anymore.

To the people coming to Grobb.. sorry.. but I tried to tell ya. Unless all you really want to do is just like.. gank in the world than you probably won’t be insanely happy here unless you got a crew coming with you to do that other activity. Just hope you won’t need to find new bodies for it if someone gets a promotion at work or gets tired of the game because that’s when the trouble happens.

Are people unable to do paid xfer off Grobb? I literally moved my Priest to Pagle yesterday. It was buggier than the previous Three transfers i got the day they went on sale (my 3 Rogues) but i’ve been out of Grobb for like two lockouts now.

I would say, to anyone that’s having issues while trying to leave Grobb, Make sure you’re choosing Pagle as your destination realm and not any of the Shards, since they’re locked for xfers.

I honestly haven’t tried because I am not paying a company money for something they let the rest of the world do for free. But I have been hearing its been a serious issue for a lot of people. Because you know.. its a hot topic around these parts with people trying to dip as fast as possible.

Not paying them is completely vaild, they screwed up big time with all of this.

But yeah, the not being able to move and then complaining sounds like user error.

Not enough time/too expensive.

The AH will balance out as it readjusts to the influx of resources.

I honestly don’t get this; most things are inexpensive. Cloth should be cheap, ore should be cheap, leather should be cheap, and all fish can be obtained through open water fishing.

I understand that not everyone would have a lot of gold, but it really shouldn’t be to the point of breaking the bank. Seems like a non-issue honestly.

Well there’s more people than there were before so it makes perfect sense that the number increased. It wouldn’t make sense if it decreased or stayed the same. This seems like another non-issue.

And how would refunds work? Who gets the gold the GM? Because I think what they’ve done is fine.

Oh yeah that is ridiculous.

Also, just for the crowd, don’t take me standing on the principle of the matter as looking down on those that don’t hold that principle. It helps I got a guild and am established for sure. Trust me.. its extremely temping to do. Which is probably the point. Or at least I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if it were.

Hi - person on Grobbulus trying to collate all the posts and data on this problem together.

Basically, exactly what you described IS the issue. Per Fwoibles post, the purpose of the shards/connected realms/virtual realms was to prevent people from losing their names, and the sense of character identity, and continuity, that come with them. Paid transfers DO work with Pagle as a target. But not any of the virtual realms. So, if you’re on Grobbulus, a server from 2019? You better hope, pray, etc., that your name isn’t taken on Pagle, which has also been a server since 2019.

Given that the whole idea of virtual realms was intended to AVOID putting people looking to transfer / consolidate into the position of “stay on a low pop or lose my name,” that’s issue #1 - Grobbulus isn’t being treated with the same concern or care as other realms, nor having the same opportunities to use a PAID transfer (since we didn’t get free ones) to at least try to keep our names, and our guildies together.

Issue #2 is that Fwoibles infodumped the FAQ post, answered 2-3 cherry picked questions, ignored the rest, and seems content with the “oops! Fixing this.” update days ago that A. Isn’t fixed (BSB and Arugal are still incorrectly locked) and B. Ignores the fact that his initial post isn’t playing out as he told people it would - the new virtual realms are now open to character creation, meaning they should also be open to paid transfers, and yet they aren’t.

Issue #3 is that EVEN IF there was a valid and consistent reason for paid transfers to not work on the virtual realms (there isn’t - neither the support article, the purchase page, any of the 6 pages of legalese attached, or blizzard support have ANY exclusions for transfer targets), there’s been zero communication for a week, despite numerous customer support tickets opened by players in my guild and myself, a handful of us reaching out to Fwoibles and Zirene, as well as @BlizzardCS via Twitter (since having your own forums for official posts and news is so blaisé, and people should have to find updates on twitter or random class discords or YouTube video comments, of course), multiple concurrent posts in this forum, active bug report issues logged on the GitHub tracker, and posts in the bug report and CS forums. It’s an absolute stonewall, with the questions being wholesale ignored.

ANY answer would be better than no answer, as at least my guild and I would be able to plan. But to post this master plan for a consolidation, run into multiple errors and omissions, announce a sale on services to take advantage of the players moving with race, name, faction changes, and then have those same advertised and pushed services not even function as advertised, with zero updates, zero communication, and seemingly zero care, from a dev team that described themselves as, direct quote, “All in on MoP!” is insulting, upsetting, and actively messing with our willingness to play.

We want to give Blizzard money.

Why are they making it harder to do?

Blizzard should just give tabs when the guild is formed. It would be better if a guild got more tabs than they had when the transfer disbanded the guild than to make all the guilds buy them again.

@Jirukon That’s not what I was getting at. I was trying to say that a lot of people just assumed that everyone would go to the mega PVP realm instead of the PVE realm (Pagle/Ra-Den) because… it’s a PVP realm and they’re PVP’ers lol. But so many chose to go to the PVE realm. Why? No idea. But I’d say probably over 3/4 of my friends list either stayed on Bene or went to Pagle and Grobb feels like a ghost town. I’m far from the first to say so. Also, the locking of Grobb every time the cap increases for one faction likely causes a lack of incentive for people who want to transfer but can’t do so immediately because the realm is temporarily locked. So then they just transfer elsewhere instead. It was all just poorly managed and there wasn’t in-depth enough info given out for people to make the best possible decision aligning with their goals in game. Like Grobb is a “Mega” realm but it’s just Mega dead compared to the other actual Mega realms. They also said the realms we were on would shrink, so that made me feel like the best option was to move too.
"You may also remain on your original realms if you wish, but the source realms will be closed to new players and will slowly shrink. We have seen overall increased satisfaction and engagement when players are on these larger “mega realms” and we believe this will offer you the best experience for the rest of your time in Mists of Pandaria.

@Appar Man you’re like truly obsessed with me aren’t you? Following me around every time I post something is really bizarre. Livin’ rent free in your brain. Why don’t you ever post on your main? Should have the conviction to say the toxic things you say on your main and not hiding in the shadows as a lvl 32 rogue.

1 player base has always been toxic ur just have to deal with more people you had a choses to stay on ur dieing server and play with the people that were left if you dont like playing with people in a mmorpg might wont to go for just rpg games and play with ur self

We paid to transfer to Faerlina for MoP, the whole raid team. Most of us moved multiple characters. That’s the part of this that irritates me. Now the LFG and trade channels are virtually useless because of how fast they become a wall of spam.

I can use an addon to filter the LFG, but something about that addon causes frames to hang if I have it enabled while I’m in combat. So I have to only enable it when I’m actively looking for a group. Enabling it requires reloading, which clears all of the previous chat. So I have to wait on it to populate again.

That’s just the one complaint. Overall, this has been an unpleasant experience for me. And it doesn’t look like I’m anywhere near the only one who feels that way.

I really feel like I got ripped off after paying to move to a high population server(not a mega-server). If there were a real life equivalent, it would be like paying to move from a tiny town to Austin, TX. Then, the people you paid burn 99/100 of Austin’s homes to the ground. Then they tell you, “We’ll let you move to Las Angeles for free. That’s what you really wanted to begin with”. No, that’s not what I ever wanted. But thanks for making the place I paid to transfer to worse than the place I paid to transfer from.

Its probably good for internet content. Probably the primary metric they look at even if it only matters to like .01% of the players.

if you love your original server so much why’d you take the free transfer off of it?
