Roughly 30 out 50 leveling players are self found atm.
The problem is they can’t put anything on the AH and its driving prices of on low level gear and mats through the roof (it’s having a massive negative impact on non-self found players).
My solution simple. Allow self found to sell on AH, and the gold is stored on a level 60 broker. When they hit 60 they get all their gold.
We must being playing in parallel universes. I know from just trying to give out 4 linen bags in northshire abbey.
More than half are self found.
Because I can’t even trade them the bags for the ginvite.
Anyway, for the sake argument, let’s say it’s not one-half or more, what’s wrong with allowing them to sell on AH with gold going to broker buff or just straight up mailing items to a bank alt (they can’t get anything in return from the bank alt).
I don’t even vendor my 5 copper clam meat on alts. I like to keep the economy going for lowbies (and so do many others). But its clear from the scarcity of low level drops on the AH that self found has had a huge impact. Feels like a low population server drought, while there’s clearly 3k+ players a day in Booty Bay (sometimes thrice a day) for world buffs.
In short, the drought and AH prices on common and basic world drops/materials doesn’t reflect the active server population.
And I have no problem making a video, trying to give linen bags to new characters and showing you that more than one-half are self found.
i have always said from the start of self found we should be able to sell our finds on the ah , I found it after all, just make it so you can not purchase anything on the ah , why you might ask? so a SF can buy their expensive mount in a reasonable time frame via selling their finds, just my 2cents.
Self Founds can’t get to Booty Bay until level 25 with ashenvale to ratchet walk for me to get a mass population count, unless someone summons them for free (not happening unless in a guild that does it for them).
The only other place I log the results is in dungeons, which are 3 or 4 self founds per run. I’m the only non-self found in last two dungeons.
The argument here is that self-found will be overrepresented in dungeons because they need the blues and underrepresented in Booty Bay for World Buffs, and they dont’ stay around long enough in SW for Ony buff.
So the starter zones are the only place I can make a good count.
Yes, because you’re in the Self Found guild. In short, we know self found will be underrepresented in Booty Bay, just like they’ll be overrepresented in dungeons.
Yes I am in that guild, but their raid group was full so I asked in Lookingforme and got an invite in about 30 seconds. People tend to be nice if you just ask.
womp womp i guess? a lot of those who play SF could care less about the economy and i doubt would have an interest in auctioning items for gold they cant even use on their character.
