Seething Shore is not worthy of RBG status

Ive played at 2400+ in several seasons in recent expansions. Seasons I dont get that high Im not bothering to Q on a team because this game hates my class(DPS shaman) and I have to put in too much work to get in teams to enjoy what little time I get to play.

I own every vicious saddle mount in the game. Ive played on several organized teams and many pubs. Ive played on low MMR throwaways and rank 1 multi-hero only teams.

I have never, not even sarcastically, seen a human being say they enjoy Seething Shore. I cannot say this for any other battleground in the game. SOMEONE I know enjoyed every single other one. But Seething Shore is uniquely, universally reviled. No one enjoys it. This gets worse the higher rating you get.

Lowering the time you can be trapped in a completely negatively received battleground will not alter the dislike for said battleground. All of its flaws exist regardless of how long you are stranded on those seething shores. Id rather be stranded in Strand of the Ancients, to be quite honest. At least it was a different kind of gameplay, even if it was bad.

Seething Shores problems are having a graveyard above every single node simultaneously. Random node spawning creating randomly selected obvious favorites. Extremely slow gameplay because nodes are virtually impossible to cap, and you need to cap 15. Very poor map design, almost no LoS where it matters, uneven choppy ugly terrain that is obnoxious to move around on. No one ever memorizes the node locations so callouts are a nightmare, the solution I normally see is just using a compass system.

I get it. Your PvP dev, who is a hardstuck 1600 terribad who’s never been good or even average at the game, enjoyed Fortnight. Thats nice. Now remove Seething Shore, go back to the drawing board. Not every battleground is a winner and thats okay.

The proper solution to this would be to simply put a veto or two in RBGs so you could collect data on maps teams refuse to play on. You seem to think people will veto themap they ‘cant win on’ but seeing as your game is far too homogenized and all the classes play so samey and the BG’s objectives are not really altering gameplay substantially… Thats a moot point. People are going to veto the BG no one likes playing on. And its going to be Seething Shore and Silvershard Mines.

Because Seething Shore is terrible and Silvershard Mines is 'LoS? Hah, we totally didnt design this game around LoS what are you talking about now get in that circle you filthy caster and let the rogue have that butt for breakfast."

Remove Seething Shore and ad a veto to RBGs and most importantly, add Solo Q for Ranked so I dont have to spend multiple hours looking for an 1800 team to play on when I have 2400 RBG titles on multiple characters. Its terrible finding high rated team mates, not having solo Q ranked makes WoW PVP dead.

The other issue with the graveyard is sometimes the stupid boat will fly over the out of range so it will interrupt the rez sometimes.

Would the game not be better with the 2 battleground opt out it used to have though?

IIRC, rated never had blacklist. Could be forgetting though.

Seeing how it already got rid of my 3 most disliked (SoTA, AV, and IoC), no.

3>2

If rated could have blacklist, my team would be broken. We would win just about everything, but could NEVER win ToK.

i love seething shore !! i think it’s just fine and no i dont want to block anything !!

Is it still like this? That’s happened to me a few times, and I couldn’t believe it actually made it into the live game like that.

Yeah, still like that

Happened to me once. Not affecting ressing, but if I tried to jumped down, it would teleport me back. This is randoms and rated combined. Seems super rare.

I’ve had it reset my res timer a couple of times. The funny part is the warning that tells you to TURN BACK NOW. Ok I’m dead and not controlling the airship, but whatever you say, Mr. UI.

That is super unfortunate.

Hey, no need to bash Strand of the Ancients. That BG was actually really good. Blizzard already gave you what you wanted by removing it, so stop kicking it while it’s down.

Oh man, directly insulting the devs. That’s a bold move sure to get people capable of making changes excited about the well thought ideas. Let’s see how this plays out, Cotton.

I found you can out distance it while still on the boat and then just hit the teleport back button when the debuff disappears, just sucks you have to put that much thought

I think strand could have been better if they had done like pure bombs and replaced demos with like siege ladders.

ooof yea I feel your pain.

Likewise with the non-rated version.

Poor design as you say. Cant be compared to other node-maps since the GYs are so far away it makes it hard for ressers to bounce straight back in to spin.

I’m not even a rated player and thinking SS is a huge, steaming pile of crap. I usually /afk out at the loading screen.

Should have tried rated Sota. There were no bombs at all, only demos.
