Seeds of Renewal Zone Overview: Discover Bel'ameth

I’m excited to go to Bel’ameth and interact with a lot of characters that have been there.

I’m just happy for this new little city, I think it is time to move on to other plot threads.

Don’t sweat it, I told Bwonsamdi to put it on your tab. :robot::+1:

I mean, we already owe him almost a million souls. What’s one more on the list?

100%, I adore Amirdrassil and Bel’ameth.

I can still be disappointed they aren’t in Kalimdor, though - or that we didn’t see Ashenvale, Hyjal, or any other number of Kalimdor-based Night Elf zones given the facelift into what we see for Amirdrassil now.

I can also continue to be annoyed at the fact that they open the new Night Elf capital up to the Horde before any other city - despite, y’know, the Horde having been constantly trying to steal and deforest Kaldorei lands since Vanilla. And, y’know, the fact it’s the fault of the Horde’s former insane banshee leader and her Forsaken loyalists that caused our original capital to be burned up to begin with.

I know nothing will be done about it, and can only hope Night Elves don’t get shafted even harder in Midnight, but I will continue to remain annoyed and disappointed at how they’ve been treated since BfA (and really, arguably earlier, depending on how you feel about the writing for our leadership).

I will, however, enjoy getting to explore all of Bel’ameth soon! I hope it’ll actually be moderately populated on RP servers outside of the initial zerg rush of “oo shiny new thing go cram in!”. It’s an absolutely gorgeous area and I’d hate it to go the way of all other racial capitals being basically abandoned in retail.

It forever baffles me how Blizz clearly has decent phasing tech available to them, yet continuously refuse to show any sort of gradual changes or updates per expansion to older areas. Not even just talking about Kaldorei areas, either - like… in general.

Agreed 100%.

I’d rather be ignored and not have our lore, writing, and areas repeatedly thrown in the trash at every opportunity. Let someone else be the punching bag race for once; trolls and night elves are tired, man. :dracthyr_cry:

Beautiful work of the devs! There’s only one thing a bit disappointing that i’m hoping will be changed, Bel’ameth is still too bright, and don’t fit the nocturnal aspect of night elves.

I think it was an odd choice to turn the Night Elf homeland into an expansion feature.

I dunno, I mean, my schedule’s pretty clear. Just bring a dish to pass and some accelerant and I think we can make an evening of it!

Naw man, I’ll just bring my Fire Mage and job done.

With this plot they created, I also wish they had never paid attention to the Night Elves.

I would have left them in their tree, isolated at the end of the world and that would have been it.

Anyway, the good thing is that they apparently decided to change the strategy: the text does not call the place ‘capital’, but rather ‘another settlement’.

It’s just a decorative area, for Blizz to atone for the terrible history of the last three/four expansions.

LOL that armour looks incredibly bad on undead.

But to be fair, most mogs do.

They probably made it fireproof or something. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cool now what about Gilneas.

Goblins will only take that as a challenge.

I will sit on the nearest root with a bowl of popcorn and laugh as they blow themselves up ad infinitum.

Gilwhatnow? I think you’re seeing mirages, friend.

For all those people wondering “Why isn’t Bel’ameth attackable?” or “Why is the Horde allowed inside?”, see the above comments.

Even if lore-wise the Horde and Alliance are in an armistice, Horde players would absolutely 100% grief this place and attack the city. They would kill guards, aggro NPC’s, camp the place and form ‘LFG Bel’ameth burning’ groups in the town.

By forcing it as a ‘Sanctuary’, that option to grief the city, slaughter the NPC’s and cause havoc has been taken away. The Horde are forced to follow the rules here as we know the Sentinels/Tyrande are only tolerating some of the Hordes presence because of their role in securing Amirdrassil from Fyrakk. We know Tyrande is allowing Hamuul and ‘his people’ to visit this town, but that’s it.

Horde can’t use the Portals.

Horde can’t interact with the Profession vendors.

Horde can’t loot the treasures (maybe that’s changed) or buy the Darnassian armor off the Vendor.

Horde can’t set their hearth to the Inn.

And, probably the most obvious of all indications:

Horde have a debuff that says they are being watched by the Sentinels which causes the Bel’ameth citizens to appear as neutral.

None of these are signs or indication of a ‘friendly, welcoming city’. The Horde is being tolerated here because of the actions of the Horde player’s role in 10.2.

Maybe one day, if it ever becomes a full-fledged capital, it’ll get the ‘Capital City’ treatment with real guards and attackable NPC’s but for now, it’s pretty clear the ‘Sanctuary’ tag you see is to support the debuff.

I think that they’re referring to the last 4 letters in the name of the new zone.
