You can’t interact with the forge to use the Rose Gold Dust when Koref tells you to. Nobody I’ve met has been able to do it. The quest is broken. I’ve tried reloading, Resetting Torch Buff, abandoning quest. Nothing fixes it.
Edit: Some have mentioned that skipping the obsidian questline fixes the issue. This did not fix it for me.
Edit2: It just started working now. The button just randomly started showing up today.
Can back this up – seems like it’s not a universal issue, but the special action button doesn’t show up after you speak to Weaponsmith Koref and tell him you are ready.
He tells you to add the rose gold dust, and then nothing happens from there.
UPDATE: If this happens, it’s probably because you haven’t completed the Obsidian Citadel questline on that character. Go to the top of the citadel, talk to the bronze dragon, and skip the questline. It’ll work after.
I can’t complete it either. I have done all the quests at the citadel and farmed all the rep. Tried dropping the quest and trying again but the same thing happened. I put all the dust, flux and infuse the key with the torch and it won;t let me reforge it. Keeps saying I don’t have the materials.
Some of us can’t even see the Rose Gold to loot it, much less get to the forge point. One person who was looting some stood over it first to show a few of us and absolutely none of us could see or click it .
This was my issue, go to the “top” talk to the dragon, choose “skip”, go back down to the forge, I had to abandon, and take the quest again, then it worked, thanks!
This did not fix the issue for me, sadly.
Going to top, talking to bronze dragon, abandon and get quest again worked for me, thank you.
Any more theories on how to make rose gold dust appear? ( have all the toy buffs, am best friends with Sabelleon/Wrathion on the character I’m using, was able to find the flux, but no sign of the rose dust )
edit: nevermind … the dust petals were just much smaller “dust on the ground” and idol animations much more restrained tiny blue light than I realized.
So my problem is that I get to the forge and the Weaponsmith is not showing up? I have all the things I need but he is not there?
I am stuck at the same spot. I have done all the citadel quests and I cannot get the Weaponsmith to show up
I am also still having this issue. No Forgemaster showing up to even try to do the quest
Try flying up to where Wrathion and Sabellian are, choose one to be loyal too, then return to the forge, that worked for me.
After spending an hour trying to figure out why it wasnt working, I collected the fragments and key frames to completed the world quest for Wrathion, went back to the forge and Weaponsmith Koref was there.
Yes that worked thank you. I had to go to the bronze dragon and skip to the part where you pick Wrathion or Sabellian. Thank you!

I cannot see or interact with the rose gold dust or flux. I am acquaintances with Wrathion and Sabellian, have dropped the quest multiple times and still no change. This is pretty frustrating.
Well, I have the entire quest done, got the Key transmog, have it listed on the achievement tracker, ran a quest completion tracker and says I have not completed. The forgemaster does not have another quest to take back to Bobby. Bobby does not say anything about the key and he doesn’t have the next quest (clue 11) for ANY of my alts or the one I completed the key on.
