Title. Upon accepting the first quest, I was given the Mystery Box, but when I went to my bags, it was gone.
Secondly, the other quest near the bar completed but did not give me the item to solve that either.
EDIT: There was also a secondary quest for a Thinking Cap, and I completed it but did not receive the item for it either.
Relogging fixed this issue for me–the box showed up in my inventory. However, now all items in my inventory are invisible. They’re still there, I can hover over em and see their tooltips, but visually my inventory is empty.
I’m also experiencing these issues. Every item in my bag is invisible upon taking the Preserving Rarities quest. The other quest I thought I took but it’s not showing up in my quest log.
Same here… after a relog, EVERYTHING in my bags are blanked out. I can also not change equipment, or use anything. I can’t even use equipped trinkets.
I have no bag addons enabled.
TLDR: This quest just annihilated my ability to play the game at all.
EDIT: dropping the quest doesn’t fix the issue. My toon that started the quest is effectively out of commission until this critical bug is fixed.

yeah, this quest bugged all of my bags. The items are there but they are invisible. You can scroll over each item to see what it is, but any new item you get for these secrets quests will be invisible upon receiving it.
One of my characters is completely unusable because all of her items are invisible. This needs to be fixed asap.
I was able to do the quest only because I could hover over my inventory squares which are all invisible now. I’m going to lose my mind if i have to wipe my config to fix this.
Yep, I was looking for other people having the same issue, I took the quest, and nothing was added to my bags, reloaded my UI and everything disappeared in my inventory. Relogged, still the same

Same here. All items in my bag are invisible. When I convert it to separate bags, only the bag with the quest item (mystery box) is affected.
Mine is invisible also. I did learn that if you mouse over the empty space in your bags the bubble will pop up saying what the item is. it even let me click on them
after reloading, i was able to navigate through all the invisible items in my bag n find the mystery box and open it, then talk to the bartender, who sends you to the bank. If you stand at the weekly vault, turn around and in the right corner of the gold pile is a spot to put the chalice. That’s as far as I’ve got.
In my case it was the quest “A Secretive Contact”. The reward for the quest was bugged out and did not list a name or image. Upon clicking complete quest my inventory appeared to be normal but no item could be interacted with or moved. After reloading, no icons appeared in my inventory at all but the “invisible” items could be interacted with and moved.

TEMPORARY FIX -
The item (mystery box) is bugged, but if you move it to your bank it will just bug whatever container you put it in. So i have one bank bag that has invisible items but my regular inventory is ok at least
Same! Not sure I completed the “thinking cap” quest. I only saw an empty box in quest dialog where reward would be. Don’t think i got anything. The chalice stayed in my bag after I placed it, but was untouchable. It now says it’s a tuskarr relic but still looks like a chalice. a few minutes later I opened bag and everything is invisible.
