Honestly I don’t see why they can’t allow both types of flying in 11.0 either. I get it as part of a raid or dungeon feature in Dragonflight. That requires kind souls willing to ferry others around though.
I love the feature personally. Totally prefer flying laps in Valdrakken then running them in Oribos when I was between stuff to do. Especially while under the effects of ink black potion. Still though at this point they just need to give in and just let players have regular flying right out of the gate.

Not even close to a hurdle. The only ones claiming bots can’t dragon ride are the standard crowd that tries to pretend bots aren’t a thing anyways.
Besides, the fact that humans can dragon ride means a bot can as well. There is nothing stopping software from controlling software… especially since that’s how it works. All of the hardware we use is ultimately controlled by software that in turn communicates with more software…
I’d be surprised if bots weren’t using dragons within a day or less of Dragon Riding being made accessible to the public. The only real trick would be working out the timing checks to make sure they didn’t look too perfect and had some slop to fit with a human hand controlling it to spoof any server-side detection software.
You sure you weren’t watching me trying to to do that dragon race with the hiccups?
(but seriously, how do bots even handle dragon riding?)
Why do you believe they would have a problem? Even if it just used the same control interface as us/players, that interface clearly works and unlike us/players Bots can do perfectly timed sequences and repeat them perfectly each and everytime.
I see this as a litmus test for Blizzard post MS. If they are above board with admitting “past mistakes”, I think they will change it so that old school flight will be a day 1 thing. They recently removed the renown requirement for OS flight in 10.2, and I’ve tried, but can’t come up with a single argument as to why OS flight should be blocked until max level when dynamic flight is available on day 1. If they stick to their guns with no further explanation, that will show me that it’s the same old Actiblizz with Ion at the helm, and I’ll just take my business elsewhere.

Mostly because while the new flight is much faster it does require brief moments of being landed. They likely want some small form of friction when traveling long distances until you fully experience the game, and there may be some early quest lines that have dragonflight mechanics in mind normal flying would trivialize these
Everyone thinks 1st class is so great but on a plane, they’re the least likely to survive in the event of a crash.
You’re a very small % of the playerbase. Maybe 0.3% of people feel the same as you do. I also get vertigo and It is not triggered at all by dragon riding. Just walk
You don’t have to buy a product from a business that you do not like. Buying it just tells them it’s not a big enough issue
I’m an amputee with one arm, and the button bloat makes it really hard for me to be as effective as I used to, but such is life and sometimes life just isn’t fair
