Thanks, Blizzard, for making it obvious that people who are unable to enjoy dynamic flight due to various physical issues such as vertigo, motion sickness, etc. do not deserve to experience the coming expansion fully or to level efficiently. No, we must find a way to navigate a VERTICAL ENVIRONMENT without flying until we reach max level, while players without these issue can enjoy flight from Day 1. And I’m not talking about personal preferences here. I’m talking about those of us who get violently sick trying to dragon ride. Who have tried all the sliders and all the camera angles and still can’t make it work. We exist. We subscribe. We play (or, played…)
But what we don’t do, is matter. Your decision to make dynamic flight available Day 1 while gating old flying behind max level makes that abundantly clear. Thanks for letting us know you don’t value our subscriptions. That you consider us “less than”. That Azeroth is no longer meant for us and you really, really wish we’d all go away so you can finally do away with that icky old style flight entirely. And until we do, you’ll just keep making it harder for us and rubbing our noses in the fact that we have challenges by implementing rules that preference the abled.
AFTER MAX LEVEL. Do you not understand the inequity in that? Others can fly during the leveling process. We cannot. Levelling will be hampered, because War Within is primarily a vertical environment.
Either ALL flying is available Day 1, or none. That is fair. I’m not asking for special treatment. Just a level playing field. Why is that such a terrible thing to want?
Postscript: Yes, pretty much. If my husband is playing, I can tag along with him and look away. But the experience of not having the intended flight has made the xpac so unpleasant I rarely play anymore. Very much looking forward to the patch and old flight so that I can come back.
Not going to delete but will throw in this edit: I was under the impression the OP was upset about the dragonflying raid in the upcoming patch. This is not the case. I see no reason for old flying to not be available inthe open world.
People with no legs don’t complain that they can’t run the Boston Marathon. If you have a disability there comes a point where you have to accept your limitations and not demand that the entire world inconvenience themselves on your behalf. Sorry, but that’s the way it is. I suck at shooting games, I don’t demand that the entire world change because my eyes don’t work. It’s the same thing.

How would making both forms of flying available at launch INCONVENIENCE anyone else?
Eh, I don’t see why they wouldn’t just make both available at launch anyway. Normal flight doesn’t confer any sort of advantage over Dynamic Flying – quite the opposite – so it makes sense to enable both from the outset.
For open world content, I suppose it wouldn’t. I was under the impression this was another post about dragonriding in the raid. I see no reason why people shouldn’t be able to fly the old way in the open world.
Um, no. Northrend is 2 xpacs from now. War Within is basically going to successively deeper levels within the core of Azeroth. The environments are quite vertical as shown in the available art.
yea well next expansion looks like dragon riding is stick around and old flying mounts will use that as well. So unless blizzard have players the options to toggle to regular flying in day 1 of next expansion I think OP complain have a point.
